We light candles in memory of Fanni, Gitu, and six million more and carry forward the responsibility to uphold human dignity.

ONLINE EVENT: Why justice matters: A moral and legal perspective
The session will explore how the law can be used as a tool to secure accountability for perpetrators, and what a victim-centred approach requires when pursuing justice.
Monday, 27 April, 19:00- 20:00 BST
A joyous Easter to all our friends and colleagues marking it today! 🐰
Chag Pesach Sameach to everyone celebrating this evening! The story of Passover is a powerful reminder to us of the power and value of kindness which resonates today.
Hatzola provides health assistance to all communities. At times like this we take inspiration from them in protecting the rights of all people.
Eid Mubarak to our Muslim friends and colleagues! May your hearts be filled with gratitude, love, and forgiveness on this blessed day.

At a moment when new proposals threaten to close doors to those who have built their lives here, we’re reminded of the deeper story behind this work: the moral and historical responsibility to welcome refugees.
Yesterday we joined a Mass Lobby to ask MPs to urge the government to reconsider the 'earned settlement' proposals which will impose cruel and unnecessary hurdles on people who are trying to make the UK their home.
These naïve changes do not make the system fairer. They do not make people safer. And they do not uphold the values this country prides itself on. A humane asylum system is possible, but it requires thoughtful leadership which respects the evidence as well as human rights.
Today’s announced reforms move the UK even further away from a compassionate, strategic approach to asylum. These constant reactive changes to the asylum process prove what we and many others have long said: policies built on deterrence, hostility, and headline‑driven politics do not work.
Today marks four years since the war in #Ukraine began. Four years of grave #HumanRights violations, mass displacement, war crimes & breaches of international humanitarian law. As this conflict continues, so does the international community’s legal & moral duty to defend rights.
Today marks 50 years since the death of Monsieur #RenéCassin jurist & co‑drafter of the #UDHR. His work, shaped by the horrors of the #Holocaust, reminds us why human rights protections matter now more than ever. We honour his #Legacy by defending #HumanRights for all.

Lord Alf Dubs, who came to Britain on the #Kindertransport, has said the government is “pulling up the drawbridge” by suspending family reunion visas.
Restricting #FamilyReunion undermines dignity & forces people into dange. We must defend #SafeRoutes that keep families together.

The findings from an inquiry underline a devastating truth: lives were lost in the Channel that should have been protected. Honouring those who died means acting now, by expanding #SafeRoutes so no one is forced into dangerous journeys to seek safety.

Safe routes save lives. From the #Kindertransport to today, history shows that when protection is closed off, harm follows.
#AtrocityPrevention must start before people are forced into danger.

LGBTQI+ people are not safe in immigration detention. The safeguards are failing, and queer lives are being put at risk. It’s time for the government to act.
