Years ago I was at a charity event in NYC. Kathy Lee Gifford was one of the hosts. Her and Frank were chatting with a group of us when she got pulled away to attend to some business. She handed her purse to Frank and he immediately handed it to me and said “I can’t be photographed holding a purse.”

BadgerBrew?
The best thing about Peter’s question is, to which Randall Cobb catch is he referring?
Thank you for this.
…Cy Young votes? #loyallistener.
OMG. I was cracking up at microbrew this week. The preseason predictions, and the conviction in which Curt was convinced of a Joey quantum leap had me Rolf.
There should be a scale on the deli slicer.
Why is the worker slicing meats and cheeses and guessing at the target weight?
Agree completely. Sounds like we also agree that Yelich is not a bona fide power threat and they need to upgrade the DH position.
The problem is not who the Brewers don’t have, it’s that their best players have been…awful in this series.
Maybe the Brewers can go down to the Grundy County Auction and find some hitters.
When your best players perform poorly, this is what happens.
This is so true. I can testify that the congregation at St. Vincent of Marie just last week were saying the Packers special teams are demonic.
Wilson walks on three strikes.
The Packers and Brewers have the same number of regular season games remaining.
Toby eats dinner with us every night. He has impeccable table manners.
Great minds think alike and fools seldom differ.
@jrradcliffe.bsky.social I thought you might appreciate this type of minutiae.
The last time the Brewers, Badgers, and Packers went undefeated for the weekend (Fri-Sat-Sun) was September 20-22, 2019.
Brewers vs Pittsburgh
Badgers vs Michigan
Packers vs Denver
I’ve had a pretty rough few days and am really looking forward to getting in the car and listening to @harrisfootball.com Little Podcast That Could while I distance myself from reality for an hour and contemplate which player I drafted that I will drop so I can add a stupid kicker to my lineup.
Essentially lost two games tonight. Cubs win season series and thus only have to finish with same record as Brewers to win division.
Got it. I remember this for the Woodruff quote about not being afraid of anything.
I guess I missed the Miz line.
Thanks for the interaction. I really do enjoy your coverage online and in podcast form.
Cheers
I’ve been a JS online subscriber for like 10 years. How did I miss your article? Even if I don’t read ‘em, I still give you the click. 🤣

This article and quote from Miz saying he “doesn’t really prepare for opponents” has been bothering me for a while. Is this typical in the big leagues and do you think his opponents prepare for him?

The Gods Must Be Crazy
@harrisfootball.com I liked your discussion about using the platform ranks to your advantage. For the past few years on the morning of the draft, I download the platform ranks and Harris’ ranks to a spreadsheet then find the delta of each player. Helps to know when I might be able to wait or not.
I’ll tell you this, I was pessimistic about this team in 2025. And in mid May, I thought it was over.
I’ve been watching the Brewers since 1948. Ok, not that long, but I was watching Gorman Thomas’ strikeout to end the ‘82 WS.
There has never been a summer of THIS much fun and entertainment. I❤️⚾️
JR, it was all I could to NOT calculate the Brewers magic number this morning. I will not be responsible for any jinxes.
Braun is solidly #2. If we’re only talking players, then we’re probably adding Cecil Cooper to go with Yount & Molitor. The fact that there’s really no pitcher to consider (Teddy, Sheets, Slaton?) tells you a lot about the history of the Brewers.
You’re quite The Joker.
I downloaded (and yes, I paid) the Almanac today and now I have to try to contain my giggles reading the comparison of JJ McCarthy to a grown up Jonathan Lipnicki doing Zen poses.
The Almanac literally, literally, is a phantasmagoria of Chris’ writing.
Highly recommend.
