The Drake Relays announced the elite fields for the #GrandBlueMile, the USATF road mile championships and team selection event for the 2026 World Athletics Road Running Championships. The race is held the day after the #BostonMarathon.
Thanks for that 👍

Update: USATF announced that Twin Cities In Motion will host the 2026 national 10K championships for men & women on Saturday, October 3. That's a good date for track athletes looking to run a high-level fall road race.
Reminder to athletes at #WorldIndoorChamps:
Your federation's media liaison has no right to tell you which media outlets to speak to or for how long. That's up to you. Don't miss a chance to get the coverage you deserve.
Sadly, she did her mixed zone interviews before being told about the DQ. She was so happy with her performance...
Some really tough qualifying races on day one of the #WorldIndoorChamps, especially in the 1500m where the field had to be whittled-down to only 9 for the final. Here's my recap via @runnerspace.bsky.social -

Some context on Grant Fisher's half-marathon debut at the #UnitedNYCHalf:
Although he was disappointed, his was the third-fastest half-marathon debut ever at this race behind only Mo Farah and Galen Rupp from 2011.
History Lesson: Here's a list of key half-marathon debuts at #UnitedNYCHalf for men. The race has been held on different courses; some not record-eligible.
Note that Ben True was a DNF in his 1st HM (Houston, 2013), but NYC was his first finish.
Let's see how Grant Fisher does.
Hell of a journalist. May he rest in peace.
Course is not record-eligible, but is decidedly difficult. That the men ran 59-low last year is remarkable…
Fantastic women's race on tap at #UnitedNYCHalf on Sunday with Agnes Ngetich, Hellen Obiri, Sharon Lokedi, and Emily Sisson going head-to-head with no pacemakers.

Chloe Herbiet wins the #GateRiverRun 15-K in 47:58 (unofficial). She held off all of the men (5-minute head start), so gets $10,000 for first place and the $5000 equalizer bonus.
"For me, it's a good day out here," she said.
Fiona O'Keeffe was second in 48:22.
In the 11th kilometer at the #GateRiverRun, Chloe Herbiet (BEL) has pulled away from Fiona O'Keeffe (USA).
Update: Katelyn Tuohy just got rolled-up by the men's lead pack (elite women get a 5-minute head start).
That's Fiona O'Keeffe (USA) and Chloe Herbiet (BEL) leading the elite women in the 8th kilometer of the #GateRiverRun.
An officer-down incident played a big role in the misdirection of the top-3 women at the @usatf HM Champs, @atlantatrackclub.bsky.social reports (see below).
The ATC also said they would pay McClain 1st pl prize$ equivalent ($20K) and split the sum of 2nd & 3rd for Hurley & Kurgat ($9750 each).
Wow. 2:40.4 closing kilometer for Emily Mackay in winning the 3000m at #USATFIndoor in a championships record 8:30.01. Elle St. Pierre a close second in 8:31.07.
Remarkably, her first 400m was just 72.9 seconds.
The previous record was 8:40.45 by Lynn Jennings in 1990.
Speaking to the media yesterday in Atlanta in advance of the USATF Half-Marathon Champs, reigning national marathon champ Molly Born said how much she loves road running.
"I don't know if I'll do another track race again," she said.
