Lychee wood charcoal grilled beef neck filet. Incredibly tender. Incredibly beefy. This was the first of the bbq courses, preceded by some complementary banchan (of which the most intriguing was a plate of charred snap peas in a punchy peanut dressing), a shrimp jeon, and an incredibly fluffy egg soufflé in anchovy broth.

Accompaniments for the bbq: A scallion salad (surprisingly mild rather than Too Pungent), house chili oil (real hot), a cilantro-based -jang (clearly non-traditional but a fun contrast to), traditional ssamjang. Assorted lettuces and herbs (including perilla and chrysanthemum) for wrapping. A can of house lager is also in frame.

A ssam of bbq course #2 (marinated rib eye bulgogi topped with the pine-nuttiest pinenuts), bit of the cilantro jang and scallion salad, on a perilla leaf.

The restaurant also has cute branding of a tiger smoking a pipe. 😎 dessert was soft serve: either milk flavor with black sesame sauce and huckleberries or tart yogurt/makgeolli flavor with puffed toasted rice and strawberries. Service was attentive and fun without being annoying. Perfect dinner! Will be back
