And tonight, we had the return of logic, because with the letters I had, this was the only logical choice. Solved the Wordle in 4. And how did you do? Wordle #1,767 4/6

A lot of people had trouble with this word. I am so sorry you were one of them.

Based on what I'm seeing, you were not alone in having problems with this one.

Should have solved this in 4, but with the letters I had, I'm amazed I solved it in 5. I'm sure the Pope did better. And how did you do? Wordle #1,766 5/6

And in some states, only married people could get access to birth control, and only for "medical reasons." This was true until 1966.

I really thought I was going to have another 3, but I ended up settling for a 4. I wonder how Pope Leo did. And how did you do? Wordle #1,765 4/6

According to the New York Times reporter who covers the pope, Pope Leo enjoys playing Wordle. That's further proof that Wordle is bringing people together from many different backgrounds. Good to know! 😍

Not as much as it used to be. It's slang, and slang words are perpetually changing.

Well, this is an improvement: although I nearly solved the Wordle in 2, I'm happy with a 3 (much better than last night's 5). And how did you do? Wordle #1,764 3/6

Well, that didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped. Took me forever to figure out a word with the letters I had, and I could only come up with an uninspiring 5. And how did you do? Wordle #1,763 5/6

I was teaching my students about the Butterfly Effect and it reminded me that as a culture, we tend to focus on immediate gratification, without seeing the big picture. A few thoughts on that in my new blog post: dlhalperblog.blogspot.com

I'm really surprised I solved this one: I basically made an educated guess, and somehow, it turned out I was right. I solved the Wordle in 4. And how did you do? Wordle #1,762 4/6

Many healthcare providers have a secure online portal where you can send messages to your doctor. Have you tried that?

I'm not, and I still struggled to solve this one... 😢

Former chaplain here; also a professor who has taught world religions for years. I have it on very good authority that the pope knows more about theology (and ethics) than J.D. Vance does. Perhaps it's J.D. who needs to stay in his lane.

Logic. I did it with logic. Got off to a miserable start, but finally figured out what the most likely choice was; and I solved the Wordle in 4. And how did you do? Wordle #1,760 4/6

Advocate & guardian for a special-needs adult. Little early intervention back when he was a kid, so his parents were told to institutionalize him. Been advocating for him since 1984. Love him like a family member. (Here he is at Passover.) I'm not rich but I'll always try to help SPED teachers.

Narrator: He did not look like a doctor. He used the imagery of a Jesus figure. He is neither a doctor nor Jesus (and he does not play either one on TV).

No need for me to do that. I just took your project across the finish line. Glad I could help.

Been away all day. Have any members of the Republican party spoken out about the president's anti-Catholic rhetoric, or the image depicting himself as Jesus? Any members of congress? Anyone? All I can hear is [crickets]

Just remember: whenever POTUS is caught doing something wrong, he will either blame Biden, blame the "Fake News," or say it never happened. How much longer will that strategy continue to work for him? 🤔

Narrator: He looked nothing like a doctor and there were no Red Cross symbols anywhere-- only Christian imagery. And his followers understood exactly what he meant.

And yet, I'm old enough to remember when mocking or insulting the pope was a no-no (and a career-ender) for any politician.

He also posts it because he can. His behaviors have been excused for far too long because "he's the boss" and nobody wants to challenge or upset him. His enablers (including many Republican members of congress) should be ashamed.
