Why do footballers fear Achilles tendon ruptures more than any other injury and why are they so hard to come back from?

She reportedly parted ways with Bezos with a jaw-dropping $38.3 billion in Amazon stock. Their divorce settlement included a 4 % stake in the online retail giant or 19.7 million shares. Under the agreement, Bezos kept 75% of the couple's Amazon stock, along with voting control of her shares. Jan 11, 2023
MacKenzie Scott has given away over $19 billion in the last 5 years and experts say she's 'changed entire fie... MacKenzie Scott acknowledged another $2 billion in donations as 2024 comes to a close.
MacKenzie Scott, worth $41.1 billion, is on a philanthropic tear and has donated an estimated 46% of her net worth.
Just to give a sense of the insane scale of billions of dollars…MacKenzie Scott got about $38 billion after divorcing Bezos in 2019. She has become the world’s most generous philanthropist, giving away over $19 billion…and she’s currently wealthier than she started.
Just. Tax. Them.
Odd timing.
Der #FCSP hat erstmals den "Peace Prize" in den USA verliehen. Mit der Auszeichnung würdigen wir Menschen und Initiativen, die sich für Solidarität, Teilhabe und ein respektvolles Miteinander einsetzen. Erster Preisträger: Wes Burdine, Betreiber der "Black Hart of St. Paul" in Minnesota.
I think we as Loons fans had some expectations from some new players this year but the really pleasant surprise for me has been Kyle Duncan. He’s a smart player, reads the game really well, plays with a lot of passion, has a good motor and is very skilled and can score goals. Great pick up.
More from MNUFC coach Cam Knowles on their defensive shape.
Now that Duncan is fitting in well with MNUFC it’s enjoyable seeing him and Markanich pushing up the field to play a mid to high bloc. It adds so much more of a dynamic than our old wingback style with Ramsay.
Cam Knowels on Tues. USOC match.
“Its a tight turnaround with a Tuesday kickoff, but we’ve got a good group of players…we’ll put out a strong team for that game…some guys that played tonight will have to turn around and play again, we see that as a really important competition"
NEW: MLS resumed play after the March intl window, marked by the rare emotional hit that accompanies long range goals (intended and otherwise).
Plus: Son plays provider, Steffen's shift to forget, Yeboah the matchwinner, Farrington-Musa, Philly bad, and CHARA🟨👑. www.theguardian.com/football/202...
Amazing article and graphics in the Strib on urban fox and coyotes in the Twin Cities. Highly recommended reading.

Haha
James Rodriquez hospitalized!
Some have speculated that it could have been rhabdomyolysis a serious, potentially fatal syndrome caused by rapid skeletal muscle breakdown. The Colombian Federation also put out a statement. No statements from MNUFC yet.
That's because he thought he was going to be the star and take it all the way but of course dribbling to your two wide players compressed the defense making their job easy. Dumb move as you said more eloquently.
NEW: If you’re laboring to spin this, perhaps Mauricio Pochettino wanted to muddy the waters for World Cup foes.
Almost certainly not. March camp begged far more questions than answers for the USMNT in its final pre-selection window. A brutal 180 minutes. Gulp. www.theguardian.com/football/202...
News brief from @andygreder.bsky.social: #MNUFC midfielder Julian Gressel will be sidelined for months, Michael Boxall & Peter Stroud remain out vs #LAGalaxy. James Rodriguez was absent Tuesday and other internationals will need some time to get back to Minnesota.

From Julian Gressel's IG account. "9 years into my career without an injury that kept me out, the big toe finally got me..."
If there's one thing Johnson knows how to do it's spend other peoples money. Looks like a great move for the club.
Unfortunately Markanich kind of shit the bed twice on passes from Pereyra and Rodriguez. Then again he’s a left back and not an offensive player.
Fantastic. Best of luck with the presentation.
7.0 rating, higher than Duggan and Diaz. Not bad for his 1st start and 77 minutes played. My friends felt he did look a little heavier than last season, which may have been the fitness issues the club claimed was the issue. But in my opinion his athleticism is much higher than Padelford.
On this date in 1981, the MN Kicks defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 in a trans-Atlantic friendly match played at Selhurst Park in London. Alan Willey and Ricardo Alonso scored for MN with Les Carter scored for Palace. PK shootouts where had in all TAF exhibitions. #mnsoccerhistory
As of this point there is no plan. The city doesn’t own the land. So we all know including the city that an empty lot could be as bad as an empty blighted building but CVS and the property owners lack of accountability had become untenable.
Fantastic podcast!
Fascinating stuff. I knew about the early DFL but didn't know that the WW I driven MN Public Safety Commission and their unlimited power and demand for compliance, is what helped to drive the Democratic Farmer Labor party.
Evidently you missed this:

Construction just across the street at Allianz Field and destruction happening to the derelict CVS building at University and Snelling. Dozens were watching, taking photos and videos and happily talking to each other. A F-you CVS party if you will.
Nice updates from Andy and an interview with James Rodriguez.
James has found MLS to be a “physical league where you run more than you play.”
Was there a winner in the wiener?
I sort of figured he had lost someone close to him when he didn't report to early preseason.
Also, Triantis won MLS Goal of the Week on Tuesday.
