That's why the "red pill blue pill" MATRIX people sound so stupid. The message is RIGHT THERE. They're stacking a meaning that is nonsensical to the intentions of the Wachowskis, and they're missing the point that is boldly asserting itself.
Thing about the Wachowskis is that they are not ironic filmmakers. They'll use metaphor but it's not particularly difficult metaphor to unwrap - they want you to know what they're talking about. A movie like SPEED RACER is earnest to the point that it turns some people off. They mean what they say.
Seeing excited kids in the lobby afterwards made me so damn happy.
I crashed after I got home, but man, I was in my damn feelings seeing Speed Racer in IMAX again in a sold out theater that *got it*.
I knew it was a masterpiece walking out of the theater in 2008. The rest of the world has finally, tangibly caught up.

So glad I was able to catch Speed Racer in IMAX. Such a great experience. I hope we see more of these re-releases, even if only for 1 night.
Just got back from seeing Speed Racer in IMAX. I've watched this movie so many times, but seeing it on the big screen again, with a sound system that let me feel the engines, and a packed audience who was really into it, almost felt like watching it for the first time again. Actual masterpiece.

It feels like a joke that Warner Bros. has relegated SPEED RACER to a scattering of showtimes rather than a full-on apology release. 2008 had no idea it held a landmark piece of cinema that would later serve as the premiere IMAX trip of 2026. I felt this movie deep in my soul.

i just wanted to point out, maybe its a small thing to some, but the credits for Speed Racer IMAX said Lily and Lana Wachowski..... which swelled something within my heart 🥹
I just saw Speed Racer in IMAX for the first time and it was no joke one of the best movie experiences I have ever had. I already loved the movie, but seeing it on the big screen was just incredible.

Revisited SPEED RACER (2008) in IMAX tonight... what a movie! A visual thrill ride that knows more about how to place, move, & frame images than anything since. Every shot, every wipe is filled with kinetic joy-- miles ahead of its time. What a confection, a complete treat! 🏎️🚁🏁🩷

SPEED RACER in IMAX: Glorious. This is one of my favorite films ever made (as you all well know), and the message of family triumph over corporate greed is even more timely.
But this is a film about how the ones you love truly have your back, and you can trust them to love you no matter what.
I loved AVENGERS: ENDGAME so I don't have a problem seeing it again in the theater. It's not homework to me. Sure, Disney is cynically pumping up the box office numbers but I'm fine with it. I imagine a lot of people will be.

I am counting the minutes until I get off work to see a movie I've seen 4 times in the theater already (and I'm going again this weekend!). But it's SPEED RACER, dammit. It is pure, unfiltered dopamine joy. That's my 4/20 baby.
I guessed it within 20 minutes or so, so probably not that one.
That's a tough one. There are so many movies I'd love to experience for the first time.
