Happy St. Patrick's Day! Clovers🍀aren't the only things with 4⃣ that might be relevant to your interests today... so here's a #RBUnleashed preview - we hope all you @riftbound.riotgames.com'ers love Jhin!
Keep the questions, suggestions, and feedback coming. We’ll do our best to continue to stay transparent and proactive with updates like these, and thanks as always for your continued support! (11/11)
That’s all for today - it’s been so exciting and humbling for both myself and the entire Riftbound team to watch the community grow and see new decks and strategies emerge from players all around the world. (10/11)
Until those updates arrive, rulings may vary slightly between events by region and players should continue to follow the rulings provided by their local judges. (9/11)
We also have a rules update arriving March 30. This update includes support for the upcoming Unleashed mechanics and improvements to rules clarity around penalties, judge rewinds, ambiguities, and other edge cases. (8/11)
As we promised, we’ve committed to not making large changes so close to competitive events to try and ensure players have a chance to playtest and adapt. (7/11)
We’re watching as the meta continues to develop and reviewing the data, and no final calls have been made quite yet. We’ll wait until after the Shenzhen Major Open in late March before making any changes. (6/11)
Our goal is to take a careful approach ensuring that as many cards as possible in each set remain viable. If we do see a concerning trend across all levels of play, we’ll respond as quickly and decisively as we can: riftbound.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/news/a...
(5/11)
As we shared last month, our philosophy is that bans should only be used as a last resort. For us to remove a card from play, there needs to be a strong and specific reason, and we must firmly believe the change will significantly improve the player experience. (4/11)
We promised to keep you updated if we were considering bans, and based on what we’re seeing we’ve begun internal discussions about the possibility. (3/11)
We're watching the meta evolve after Spiritforged, in large competitive events like the four Minor Opens held in China along with RQs in Bologna & Vegas, and have been keeping a close eye on strategies that may be becoming too dominant / creating frustrating play patterns. (2/11)
2: Expect a separate rules update on 3/30 for the new mechanics being introduced in our next Set, Unleashed, as well as a few clarities around penalties, judge rewind, edge cases, and more.
Read on for more!
Hey Riftbounders! TL;DR (more in the thread - 1/11)
1: We're discussing card bans in the near future based on overly-dominant play patterns, but none to announce today, nor an expected date for bans.
I’m on my way to RQ Bologna - hope to see a diverse meta, and hope to see you there!

Hey all! We posted new Tournament Rules today (riftbound.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/news/a...) This post doesn't have a breakdown of what changed - apologies! Something formal will go up soon, but for now, I wanted to highlight the bigger changes. Big thanks to Frank for his work on the TR! (1/5)
Riot has specific policies around remote work that I can’t make exceptions to for this role - and also Riftbound is a physical game and therefore has some in-office requirements related to that
Hello friends! My team is hiring - specifically a gameplay text editor (to work on templating, rules, shepherding sets to the final line), or as Riot calls it, a UX Writer. Please read through the job description and apply if it sounds like your jam! www.riotgames.com/en/work-with...
We’re super excited to announce that we’ll be hosting the first ever Pre-Pre-Rift on January 31st at 10:00AM PT! We’ll be checking out the newest set from @riftbound.riotgames.com, Spiritforged! And for some extra bonus value we’re stoked to have @covertgoblue.bsky.social joining us for the fun!
We'll keep working and taking your feedback along the way to ensure we're delivering the best experience possible. Thank you! (9/9)
Our team is made up of core TCG players and fans - we know how frustrating it is to feel like you didn’t even get a shot at getting cards. We don't have all the solutions, and it'll be an ongoing process, but we're deeply invested in improving here. (8/9)
Some of those fraudulent purchases got through, though - even if they weren’t canceled by those antibot measures, we're still able to detect them. We’ll continue to thoroughly investigate the situation and implement proper solutions to reopen preorders as soon as possible. (7/9)
You might've seen fluctuations in items going in and out of stock, which is what happens when orders are cancelled by the antibot measures our ecommerce site has in place, and someone tries to purchase that same item again. (6/9)
