Thanks @eddiemuller.bsky.social ”His Kind of Woman” (1951) is always a lot of fun to watch and even more fun to figure out how what is seemingly several different films converge together at the end.. See y’all later, #NoirAlley & #TCMParty friends. Enjoy your Sunday🖤

Just going to assume that this wasn’t part of the script and Vincent Price was actually just preparing a chicken but then the director called “Rolling” and being a consummate professional he went with it

A review of Back to the Wall (1958) Successful industrialist Jacques Decrey (Gérard Oury) discovers his wife, Gloria (Jeanne Moreau), is having an affair with unemployed actor Yves (Philippe Nicaud). He decides to punish her by blackmailing her under a false identity, but his plot comes with unexpected consequences. Based on the novel by Frédéric Dard ("Blonde in the White Car", "Paris Pick-Up"). The twists and turns of this story and the characters personalities makes this an intriguing watch. The black and white cinematography by Robert Lefebvre ("Casque d’or") is exceptional and also thoroughly noir. The lead performances are excellent, and the supporting characters, some of whom we

Saw Hangover Square on the big screen at #NoirCity today and was reminded how much it has going for it 1)Great (and tragically final) performance by Laird Cregar 2) Linda Darnell being loathsomely opportunistic, 3) Great Bernard Herrmann score, 4) Spectacular fiery and surely dangerous finale
