I'm sorry, but are you that desperate for praise for your best-selling RPG that you need to misatribute a quote you made yourself to @rascal.news ?

Oh, and the "The more of an asshole you are to the people in your life, and the the more you neglect your relationships and healthy habits the more magical power you gain" mechanics too.

It was 7 days. I spent 6 of those days compiling the information, creating the narrator who would present the game, tone and all.

Then I had 1 day to create a simple system because time ran out and couldn't write down the "sing your magical song" or "quote the lyrics of your song" mechanics.

Nonono, you can't just show my draft like that! Those are placeholder and sensibly boring mechanics with numbers.

This is a creation of my id, and it requires strange mechanics that involve singing, timing songs and knowing songs lyrics by heart.

She can't afford to have the KS books printed, but can affort to set up Satine's Quest, and live in Bali for a long while, and pay a personal assistant.

Idea: take the yearly wages she'd pay the assistant, and use them to pay the books.

I give you Victoria Ashley-Croft, firestarter, troublemaker, World of Darkness Mage. She likes damaged men, married women, and supernatural creatures who should not fall in love with humans.

She once cursed an ex with never being able to ever get a good cup of coffee in his life ever again.

Not here. Here I'm being ruthlessly honest.

... the art of "drinking water very slowly so I have time to come up with something".

I learned that from Alice in Wonderland.

To this day, it has made people think I'm a decent GM.

I am not a good GM.

I am just an experienced RPG player and, so, I know all the tricks: I am ruthless about blagging, stealing players ideas and pretend that what they thought was going to happen was all I was planning all along and... (cont).

Why you are a Great GM whether you want to be one or not:

- Born with mad improvisation skills
- "Yes, and" or "No, but" all the time
- Will give the players exactly what they want (and most of the time make them regret it deeply).

Look, if you get the funding for that paper, I volunteer to be one of your beta readers.

Dropping this here to see if it's up to your tastes (Prediction: it will be)

I did not come here to be attacked like this.

Leave the poor Budha alone. Also, does TTRPG have a "Budha" figure that is trying to enlighten us, TTRPG players?

I should be reading more books like you, but alas TBR pile is looking dirtily at me.

I can also recommend some very sweet 2-Player games, like "Your Friend in WitchCraft" which is a letter game where two magic users write letters to each other (bonus points if we play via actual written letter)

Many years ago, you gave me a book, "Hardcore Zen":

There is a quote from it I often remember when I am thinking of game systems: "“Question Authority. Question Society. Question Reality. Question Yourself. Question your conclusions, your judgments, your answers. Question this."

Look, I'm keeping my head down and fighting my TBR pile. I have no time for reasonable things like "reading broad".

Weirdly enough, my last 4 or 5 reads were a bunch of Solo RPGs. Can recommend the "Destroy this Deck".

Or videogames - you can have 10 gamers in the same room and none plays the same: one is a MMO raider, another is really into roguelites, another only plays PVPs, and so on.

I wonder what makes TTRPG so prone to "one size fit alls" and "I know this game, why would I try another?"

I remember sitting up with @dreamup.games and discussing this. It was great fun because we had to persuade each other before anything went in.

As for the "Linda Blair" reference - it's a thing, I swear! Tim Bradstreet uses one of her photos as a reference for one of the original Vampire art splats.

Getting excited as I get back to occasionally talking about #RPGenesis No, not the GTA hashtag, we’ve been here way before that. Started in 2010 by @ladyentropy.bsky.social and me in a #ttrpg forum, this is a community event in which people make their own RPGs by writing 5k+ words in 7 days!

I think writing is like a muscle you exercise. I was too drained in my first few times, but after a few NaNos under my belt, it became almost.... easy. The hard part was plotting the story. I had great fun doing it with you, and part of me would like to do it again.
