This is your reminder that it's been ten months since the assassination of Melissa Hortman, her husband and her dog, and there hasn't been even a hint of justice for her family, friends or colleagues.

In the US, it’s National Library Workers’ Day, and I would be remiss to let it pass without reminding you that the β€œlibrary workers are magic” narrative leads bad places. Love, respect, and cherish them, but also pay them, staff libraries appropriately, and let them draw boundaries.

I'm proud of all of you.

I don't think enough people here hear that enough.

Whether you're an artist or an author, a reader, theorizer, fan, gawker, lurker, whatever.

I'm proud of you for being here today.

I'm proud of you for reading these words.

I know it's not easy for any of us these days.

I can't help anyone who is so indoctrinated that they really think the world is shitty because it has to be that way. It so clearly doesn't. We're not even talking about political activity in the world. We're talking a basic foundation to be able to say, this shit's not right, it could be better.

Reminder that if you see anybody shoplifting food, or diapers, or anything like that, then no you didn't see anything.

Ibuprofen and acetaminophen were doing absolute squat. All I have to say is thank the gods for triptans.

I'm not even going and I'm not ready for the short and s3 trailer.

Once again proving that if politicians just tried, things get done.

So the migraine did in fact keep me from going to work but only because it was very very very very very very painful. Finally caved and took my last triptan and the pain is finally subsiding a little. I'm already tired today lol.

I want to put something in perspective for you all. I'm an American, born and raised. There are some states in this "free" country where I just can't go. If I do, I could be charged with a crime for the simple act of using the bathroom. Driving a car or, in some cases, being seen in public.

If this migraine makes me miss another day of the already seldom days I work, well I oughta 🀜

If we're going to get people to continue using our libraries at all, we have to meet them where they are at, wherever they are. Or they will just buy all their books, or just not read. If Libby is part of a public good then our library budgets should reflect that as it's what the community wants

Yeah but each check out also gives them stats that gives them more money from the gov to run it.

I would bet money that at some libraries twice as many people use something like libby instead of going into the actual branch. Most people I know don't even know where the library is located.

I'm at the point of being an adult where I don't think changing my hair is gonna change how I think about my predicaments. It's tragic really.

HCAO - Health Care for All Oregon Educating and advocating for quality, affordable, universal, single-payer Health Care in Oregon

HCAO - Health Care for All Oregon share.google/8Aevjdxz2s9m... correction it's not just a think tank it's a full governance board.

For context there is a volunteer think tank literally making the universal healthcare plan for Oregon. Because we actually voted to make one. But I've seen NONE of my senators or senators in Oregon supporting it.

I wish our senators actually advertised that they supported the ACTIVE UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE initiative and the volunteer council making the legislation currently with public input. That'd be nice.

I can't believe this is real

I guess if today is library day I'll take the time to say USE LIBBY if your library uses it. It can be used on almost any tablet. Even if you only check books out and forget to read them (like me).

Gender should literally just be a common thing that people *should* examine in order to have a fullness of life, even if nothing massively changes. It should be as common as developing a fashion style or a music taste. Deconstruction of societal imprint, no matter how β€œfar” you go, is freedom.

I wish I had information for you but my city has done all talk and no action 🫠 They won't even close the ICE facility in our city even though they're staying past their lease. They're basically squatting and the city is like 🀷

Our fate in the hands of deliberately evil men. The difference with a liberal? They usually don't hold grudges that they use to deliberately make everyone miserable.

Why does outside getting dark also trigger darker thoughts? Sounds a little cliche to me.
