Sifting through BOXES applications always reminds me of the incredible creativity in our comics community.
If you’ve received a ‘no’ this time, please know that it’s not a reflection on your talent.
My suggestion: Sod what I said and just make that comic or write that article anyway, if you can 💪
The four issues of BOXES Comic Magazine laid out on a table.

Submissions are now closed for BOXES Vol. 5!
Thanks everyone for sending in your ideas. One again the standard I have to choose from is VERY HIGH. A nice problem to have!
The aim is to be in touch with everyone with their outcomes by the end of March.
Thanks again for your support for BOXES.
📦📦📦
3. Also, consider submitting something that is an odd number of pages. It can give me a bit more flexibility in putting together the page order.
Ok, thanks. I can’t wait to read your submissions! Here’s the link again:

1. Please specify if your final art will be black and white or full colour. It can help me decide on the balance of black and white and colour pages.
2. There have been a lot of submissions for 8 page comics, but there is only so much space in the magazine! Consider something shorter.
I’d like to emphasise that I’d like to see MORE submissions for ARTICLES.
If you are a comic journalist or an artist with something to say about the craft, please get in touch!
Also, for comics, here’s a couple of tips that might help your chances: ⬇️

The SOUP: The Society Of Unexplained Phenomena Kickstarter campaign is in it’s last two days.
We’re coming to the end of the SOUP kickstarter! The campaign ends on Sunday at 2pm GMT.
If you’ve been meaning to back it but have still to do so, then now is the time!

The characters Herman Doolie, Jonathan Gregor, Dr. Alison Greening & Natalie Crane from the comic SOUP.
The cast of characters in SOUP (in my humble opinion) is the best group I’ve come up with for a comic.
Meet a few of them (and maybe back it if you haven’t already) here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/ste...
Thanks!
We're in the final two weeks of the SOUP kickstarter!
The funding goal has been met, but it would be lovely to hit the stretch goals of me doing a dramatic reading video and an exclusive riso print.
Take a look and back the comic here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/ste...
Thanks!
