Don't be shy to take on a little two-week side project. These five months will be the most precious three years of your academic journey.

And good to know about trainline. Thanks
Yeah, I found an alternative for the Deutschlandticket. Still kinda pathetic for such a big enterprise…
The whole @deutschebahn.com website is a disaster. Constantly unable to book train tickets. Also trying to book a Deutschland ticket with credit card (or paypal for that matter) not possible. It’s almost like they don’t want you to book, so they need less trains or whatever… facepalm
Excited to share a new review by @kocherlab.bsky.social and me:

Important read: “For an experienced researcher, AI is great. You know enough to guide the tool, catch its errors, and work independently when it fails. But for a trainee still developing those capabilities, the same tool can bypass the learning process entirely”
You never really know people. There’s a dentist down the street who got busted last week for dealing narcotics. I’ve been going to that guy for 10 years and I never would have guessed that he was a dentist.

Maybe we should revise policies that push postdocs out of academic research too early. It selects for early achievers that remain in one field and risks losing the highest impact people
14 two-year postdocs for academics of any nationality who cannot continue their research due to US politics. Do share if you know of such.

I am thrilled to share that my PhD work is published. Here, we uncover the conserved evolutionary principles of eukaryotic cell-substrate adhesions. A huge thanks to Prof. Dr. Carsten Grashoff.
