I just picked up my needles again after years of neglect & it lit up every dopamine receptor in my body with meditative, calming joy.
My first stitches were so tight I broke the yarn due to general stress & doom, but then I loosened up my grip & let the muscle memory take over.
It’s actual magic.

(This is what happens in a culture that actively disdains any sense of critical thinking around even trivial things like TV shows.
It’s all GOOD or all BAD and never the twain shall meet otherwise their poor little algo-soaked brains would actually explode.)

Like, if these “fans” didn’t understand why the scene with Whitaker standing up to Langdon was relevant to the characters’ overall arcs, have they ever even watched any other episode of the show at all?
Do they literally forget all previous episodes prior to the one they just watched?

This was a really fascinating read as someone who grew up watching entire network TV seasons, and is completely bewildered by fandoms that seem to have no real sense of object permanence for what is ostensibly their all-time favorite series:
