Morning
Mentally I am here:
I went to the Marx museum in Germany and it said he was obsessed with Percy pigs and also those trainers where the heel lights up when you walk.
He’d of loved that 🥲
the cover of apwot issue 5
its good friday so i just want to extend good vibes to some things that are Good, and starting with caspian, the brains behind @apwot.bsky.social, who provided so much care and guidance to @continuemag.bsky.social as we brought the mag into the world. extremely good! thanks cas!!!
Let me tell you, when the leader of the most powerful country on earth says he’s going to wipe out your family’s entire civilisation, it makes it very hard to concentrate on making a videogame magazine.
Nah I think you’ll have a good time! I mean, it’s visually spectacular in that it’s the highest fidelity these characters and the things referenced in the film have ever been rendered. The artists and vis devs clearly absolutely adore the source material.
But it’s just not a great film.
Do these faces make sense now?
This is great stuff Jack! Congrats!
Went to see the new Mario movie today with @honestwilliam.bsky.social and @attridge.bsky.social
We’re under embargo until Tuesday so we’re playing it safe with our facial expressions

A full-page spread from Issue 5 of A Profound Waste of Time from an article about the VMU. A pull quote from Kaenji Tosaki says "The worlds of games on the Dreamcast, carried from your home out into the rest of your life. That is the communication we dreamed of for the VMU." A large illustration, wrapped in the body text, shows a clay-styled character walking across a bridge with a Chao at its side, engrossed in a VMU, while a thought bubble depicts the Chao Garden from Sonic Adventure.
A photo showing an illustrated two-page spread at the front of an article called "Can you Save the Dog?" about virtual pets in games.
A closeup photo of a spread from Issue 4 of A Profound Waste of Time. It's black with white text and an illustration by Saint Vulture on the recto page from an article titled "The Lands Between."
A closeup photo of a spread from an article about Vanillaware in Issue 5 of A Profound Waste of Time. An illustration on the recto page of the spread is partially obscured by a half-sized, foil-printed page with a complex crest on it between the words VANILLAWARE and EST. MMII.
Our A Profound Waste of Time collection is fully restocked—and now includes Volumes 4 and 5 for the first time!

If you squint, you might remember that brief moment when it seemed like iOS games were going to change the industry for the better.
Is there a database that chronicles games events around the world? Everything from GDC to small indie meet-ups?
It’s Persian new year.
The last couple of weeks have been very unsettling. It’s hard to know what to do, or even concentrate at all. There’s no handbook for this stuff.
Here’s a little video of the lenticular test for the upcoming issue 6!
Been doing some tests over the last month! 🤖✨
See you there mate 👍

Honestly think my best memories of the WiiU were with Nintendo Land. I really loved the art design and how tactile everything felt.
We were gifted this depiction of the beast’s likeness by the supremely talented @unicorndevgames.bsky.social.
He looks less noble irl.
Proud of u bro
Was rewatching this stuff the other day. Such good access and the rapid fire interview you did was also great.
Thanks dude!
Yesterday it was my birthday so we had a little truce
Morning.
I can confirm the beast's teeth are all still very much intact. We brush them most days!
