…Anyway, since the adaptation starring Maitreyi has been nixed for yet another unnecessary one that brings nothing fresh to Pride and Prejudice, reminder that I wrote TWO Austen-inspired (in the looser sense, so the plot can still surprise you) romcoms with South Asian (specifically 🇧🇩🇺🇸) heroines!

I’m genuinely not someone who believes we can vote our way into dismantling oppressive systems. That can’t be ALL we do while sitting pretty.
But there’s an ember of hope to take away, to stoke, after tonight’s results. What we’re TOLD can never be is often just what the establishment is afraid of.
Also remember this when they try to convince us that being against gen0cide is an unpopular position.
When they inevitably try to convince us, yet again, that progressive policies are a lost cause and they HAVE to cater to the right to win (while continuing to lose over and over) let’s remember tonight!
