The Mamdani Treatment
This is the kind of shit that gives credence to arguments that Bluesky is a leftist echo chamber on par in craziness withe right wing echo chambers.
I know it isn’t! I like Bluesky and I like y’all. But, you know, it gives credence.
Regardless of whether that a lie, which might very well be, y’all are saying he isn’t saying what he clearly is saying.
Look, of course I don’t like the guy. But are we nuts? Hundreds of mentions saying he never denied, while he clearly states, verbatim: “I have never been intoxicated on the job.”
He sure did take a long detour to get there, but he IS “saying definitely that he has never been intoxicated” on job.
Oh my god, I just realized the perfect metaphor for my current moment in life, and it’s a #Root metaphor: I’m playing as the Vagabond and I’m having to take a forest turn.
I mean, I’m not a fan of the guy, but he did straight-up deny it there at the end of his hissy fit.
Legit one of my most anticipated things in media right now. Binging seasons 1–7 earlier this year was extrenely joyful.
If you’re a fan of Game Changer or Dropout at large and you’re seeing this post in the wild, you might want to follow me!
Tell me what’s the difference
I couldn't help myself
Highly highly recommended
CrossCode
I’d throw Rare’s Everwild into the mix.
Sea of Thieves is so good, I would love to
see what they could do next. But these days it seems like a huge amount of success simply to be allowed to keep toiling at the same mines and avoid getting shut down.
With similar philosophies, is my point!
New Horizons cut a lot of the series charm and personality. Any fan of the series will tell you that. And it was all for what? To make the game more customizable. So YOU can give it some form of charm and personality.
There are parallels with Tomodachi.
It’s not. Animal Crossing New Horizons had the exact same philosophy.
It feels like Nintendo is going from games that make you think “wow hahah I can’t believe they’ve done this” to “wow hahah I can’t believe they’re letting me do this” and I don’t know, it feels like a massive downgrade to me.
I came to love Nintendo because they were Nintendo. I’m not Nintendo.
I’m reading some discourse on Tomodachi Life, and it seems like it’s just… Cards Against Humanity now?
A game that isn’t funny or cool or endearing by itself, and expects you to make it funny or cool or endearing every single time.
Incredible news
Turns out, when Vagabond and Rats are in play together, neither has a good time.
Time for my daily morning Root game :)
Imagine having money to play videogames
To my non tech normies, PSA: when you share a link, everything after the ? is tracking. Those “query parameters” tell companies exactly how you arrived, what app you clicked, which ad or email sent you, sometimes a unique identifier tied to you. You can delete everything after the question mark.
Other aspects:
- Bluesky has zero ads, and basically zero talk of ads. Instagram has more and more prominent ads than any other app I know.
- On Instagram, everybody wears their face as their avatar. On Bluesky, it sometimes feel almost unfashionable to do so.
Whenever I go on Bluesky, I eventually leave because I started feeling uneasy with how badly everyone (and everything) is doing.
I just noticed: this is the *exact polar opposite* of the Instagram experiences where I always feel uneasy how much better than me everyone seems to be doing.
Yeah not maybe not on the Daleks??
I always understood the bronze look as their version of war tanks. We don’t have pink or baby blue war tanks.
I also like how they look, from an entirely aesthetic standpoint.
But colorful Daleks are completely antithetical to the very concept of a Dalek (and also a transparently cynical move by BBC, with the clear aim of producing collectible merchandise), so I can’t be in support.
