In all our winning, we have lost Jesus. In all our self-congratulations, we have lost our souls.

When JD Vance asked President Zelenskyy “Have you even said thank you once?”
…Every abuse survivor felt that.
This is horrifying.
On so many levels.
I love that Brittany Pettersen flew across the country with her newborn strapped to her to defend the constitution but I’m still mad that she had to.
Selling “gold card” pathways to citizenship for wealthy immigrants while criminalizing refugees and asylum seekers who can’t pay isn’t just unethical, it’s cruel.
This whole halftime show is a protest and I’m here for it.

The problem with twisted & tangled theology
is it doesn’t just snarl
but it strangles.
Christians are supposed to sacrifice FOR our neighbors,
not sacrifice our neighbors for Christianity.
Literally
Six more weeks of winter?
See what I heard was the groundhog told us all to get back in our blanket burritos with our booky books and hibernate through the horrors for another six weeks.
Churches should be flagships of righteousness delivering grace, peace, and truth to the world, but too many are pirate ships attacking other churches in the world…battle ships waging war against the world…or cruise ships entertaining themselves as they ignore the world.
And now Trump plans to transform Guantanamo Bay into a concentration camp for migrants. 💔
I saw someone say yesterday “I’m most horrified at the folks who aren’t horrified” and that about sums it up.
Composure, Saints! This is a vital witness to our faith in Christ in any era of chaos.
Upon waking, let us meet with Jesus and trade our fear & anger for his courage & compassion.
Rely on God.
Read Scripture.
Be brave.
Pray valiantly.
Act like grownups.
Help the hurting.
Love defiantly.

When politics replace doctrine
neighbors become human sacrifices.
Jesus said “feed the hungry, care for the sick, and welcome the stranger”…
not “cut off their federal assistance, defund lifesaving research, and issue stop work orders to organizations serving refugees.”
Today I asked my kindergartener if she wanted to be baptized and she said if there aren’t fish or bubbles, she isn’t swimming. 😂

Being blissfully apolitical right now doesn’t mean you’re morally superior or more spiritually mature.
It just means your priorities aren’t in line with caring for the least of these.
The middle isn’t neutral.
That’s part of the reason we’re here.
Hey brother, your confederate flag is showing. My corner of the internet might not be your vibe. I think the misogynists typically fester on different posts.
Goodbye 👋
A perfect analogy
True
My older kids have to do their work but I don’t make them log in for class. (We don’t have enough devices for that). My younger 2 can take rest days. The stress isn’t worth it.
The problem with gender based hierarchy is it prevents us from being willing to hear one one another as siblings.
Obviously men who refuse to learn from 50% of the church are missing out.
What would it look like if our brothers in ministry took our sister’s words to heart & honored her fully? 2/2
If your first response to the bishop’s sermon was “but we don’t listen to women who preach” rather than to consider her pleas for mercy for the vulnerable… your hatred & misogyny are on full display. 1/2
Not my 9 year old on a polar vortex digital learning day (narry a lick of precipitation in sight) singing:
“If you’re cold and you know it go back to bed”
He gets it from his mama.
That part
If women are more emotional than men, then why do men do (multiple) nazi salutes when they’re emotional?
Like?
Days like today are really some of the most acurate pictures of our theological priorities.
Do we fawn over power, wealth, violence, and exploitation?
Or do we seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God?
Hope, standing steadfast, loving, togetherness, creativity, honesty, liberty & justice for all, community, standing true to what we believe. Learning. Joy. Rest. Fun. Celebration. Taking care of ourselves and one another. Loving neighbors and enemies. Prayer. Action. Day by day, we shall overcome.
