Surely this is a category: Things that will CUT you
What's the context (which I might have overlooked)—US, or some broader scope?
There can't be just one, or even one predominant, reason a whole generation is less happy than previous ones. I'm sure media we use & algorithms have a lot to do w/ which & how many dumpster fires we're aware of, though.
Me: [develops presbyopia]
"But I'm Episcopalian!"
Dr.: "You have something called episcleritis."
Me (to self): Well, I can't complain.
My friend, who's heard this joke 1000x, on hearing I have episcleritis in my other eye now:
"Well, I guess it's good if they're both Episcleripalians."
I was at the ophthamologist's this morning & a woman's phone rang with the tone I use as my alarm clock, and I thought, "Oh no! Was waking up, showering & dressing, & driving a half hour up here ALL A DREAM?"
I hate those dreams. Thankfully, it wasn't one.
Why does the NYT Spelling Bee hints page start with, "Hi, busy bees!"? Obviously we're not busy, 'cause we're playing a word puzzle on the internet.
I love it!
I once made a suggestion as a poet I could put out a book of covers. (My friends were musicians, although I don't think any were in cover bands.)
Snippet from a voicemail (need I say, badly) transcribed by my phone.
I may or may not have it again, but doesn't "episcleritis" sound like it means inflamation of Episcopal clergy (clerics)?
(I have a whole bread-crumb trail of equally bad jokes about my eye ailments.)
Can you imagine if Obama...
And a spiritual wellness check.
Boozer?

The human element is (still) so important. And humans working together on such an amazing project is as awesome as flying around the moon. Not because it's rare, but because it's one of the many marvelous things about our species.

Excellent short at youtu.be/BzDC36Q53HI?...
Moms are great like that. I hope you're doing better now.
I feel like it's a commentary on the weather that (a) there is an ice-cream truck outside, and (b) it's playing Adeste Fideles.
In which I use my whole PhD (Theological Aesthetics, though leaning more on the Art-History side, my minor focus in the Art & Religion concentration at the Graduate Theological Union).

I passed this today but came to Google Maps for the pic ‘cause you shouldn’t photograph while driving.
Wait, is hands-free boxing a thing?
Beautiful tribute to such beautiful elders.
Back in the 80s I thought I was edgy listening to the Clash. Now I’m listening to them at the dentist getting my teeth cleaned.
Isn’t that called “engagement?” You’re bringing more people to the comments ‘cause they know you’ll be there to make them laugh!
Oh look, a rare case where "Think of the children!" turns to "Screw the children, this adult's freedom of speech is more important!" (Where "speech" is purported medical treatment.)
Yes, that is good.
He's consistent with his messaging that he wants us to have a dictatorship.
I learned today that a professor who had a formative role in my own career has died.
"Give rest, O Christ, to your servant with your saints,
where sorrow and pain are no more,
neither sighing, but life everlasting."
