Thank you and a huge congratulations to all at @ausdwcon.org for another great convention! Our live episode recorded yesterday will be out later this month. And we’ll see you all at the next one in 2028 in Melbourne!

A brief announcement: we've had to delay our Folklore of Discworld episode again to May. But we’ll see you at the Australian #Discworld Convention this weekend, and bring you our live episode later this month!
This month on Discworld Order, @sarahparkin1.bsky.social returns to discuss Carpe Jugulum.
It's our longest episode as we chat about Granny Weatherwax, vampires, AND the Witches novels in general.

The Fifth Elephant part 2
In the second part of our first 2-parter (which is also the 2nd book of the Uberwald duology) we discuss dwarf gender, Trigger's Broom, Igors and Uberwald, with some digressions.
Content note: discussion of UK transphobia

You had us at “annotated by Rincewind”.
Martha Wells is there - she got more recommendations than almost anyone, so she’s right near the end!
#PratchatIWDTBR – Rights. Justice. Action. Books.
Our March episode has been delayed. To mark International Women's Day 2026, here’s a bonus episode in which Ben passes on recommendations of women to read if you like Terry Pratchett - mostly from listeners like you! You can find all the authors…
Ben's partner is Finnish so Moomin is definitely on his radar! Though you are correct that its too late for the podcast - the edit is just about done so it'll be out soon.
Great minds, as they say!
You and us, that is. We would never suggest Boris Johnson had a great mind.
Life has found a way…to disrupt production of our next episode. We must regretfully push it to April.
But we won’t leave you empty-eared! For International Women’s Day, we’d love to share your recommendations of female authors for Pratchett fans!
Diana Wynn Jones, Ursula Le Guin…who else?
cover of Disc Coverers ep 36: MAKING MONEY. It's our man Moist Von Lipwig, wearing his sparkly golden hat, excited to tell everyone about his new concepts for money. With paper bills, Ankh-Morporkians should be able to carry and use far more than previous. Loads, even.
our official Discworld ranking list. Making Money sits at #20, under Maskerade but above Guards! Guards!.
Cha-CHINGG!!!! There's a new episode of DISC COVERERS, and this one is MONEY in the BANK, baby. Literally! (Not literally, we do not monetize this podcast in any way.) We reviewed and ranked MAKING MONEY!

If you have the game files, there are fan patches that will help it run, though it’s not perfect! Ben has got it working on a Windows 10 computer that’s about a decade old.
Discworld Order returns with episode 20.
Cam Pollard joins Mark to discuss the 21st Discworld novel, Jingo.
They discuss Pratchett getting his teeth into War, Pratchett's greatest idiot, and why Sybil Vimes was under utilised.

I talk about one of the games that made me love games: Discworld II. 🧙
ALSO: Justice for Granny Weatherwax!
Death has...gone. People have stopped dying - but they don’t just keep living, either. Someone needs to find Death and get him back to work, and that someone is you! Except you’re Rincewind. Again. (Sorry.)
@katclay.com joins us to discuss the 1996 videogame, Discworld 2: Missing, Presumed...!?
A photo of a desk with a retro-style keyboard and joystick, and a modern LCD screen. On the screen is a brightly-coloured scene from the Discworld 2 game, featuring Rincewind talking to Casanunda in a bar in the Shades.
It’s nearly time to record our next episode, #Pratchat92, about the 1996 videogame, Discworld II: Missing, Presumed…!?
Can Rincewind solve the mystery of why people aren’t dying properly?
Get your questions in ASAP about the second #Discworld graphic adventure!
Thanks for the response - we found it there too, thanks to Old Dickens of the L-Space wiki. There’s a brief mention also in The Compleat Ankh-Morpork.
That’s the trade paperback then. Does it have the “Where am I?” Introduction?
It seems there was both a paperback and trade paperback edition - and that their contents might not have been the same! More research required. If you’ll indulge Ben: is yours a standard or trade paperback? What’s the page count?
Although…1993? That’s before the original Companion in 1995! Are you sure that’s right?
Huh! Thanks for passing that on - this isn’t what the evidence Ben found had to say! But this is why it’s important to go to the source.
When is an encyclopaedia not an encyclopaedia? Maybe when everything in it is made up…
Liz and Ben discuss The #Discworld Companion in its various forms, but mostly the current edition, The Ultimate Discworld Companion, from Terry Pratchett and Stephen Briggs. #Pratchat91 (optional)
A photograph of a bookshelf. In front of the spine-out books are three face-on books: The Discworld Companion (updated edition), a smaller paperback with a “letterbox” cover illustration by Josh Kirby of various Discworld characters; Turtle Recall, a larger hardcover with a larger illustration by Marc Simonetti of various Discworld characters; and The Ultimate Discworld Companion, a trade paperback with an illustration by Paul Kidby of the Librarian with a lantern in the library.
Our next episode, #Pratchat91, will discuss The #Discworld Companion!
What favourite entries would you like us to discuss? What questions did it answer - and what (or who) was missing?

Better late than never. PJ and Andy read The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents for the first time!

Our Hogswatch extravaganza - featuring a review of the latest Stranger Times book by @caimhmc.bsky.social and a wonderful chat about Christmas no. 1s with @20thcenturymarc.marcburrows.co.uk - is out now! Full video on YouTube, or find us in your podcast catcher of choice.
Our new special episode about the Hogfather TV show references a couple of other podcasts that recently talked about David Jason:
Comfort Blanket (hosted by @gralefrit.bsky.social), specifically the Count Duckula episode.
@xplainthexmen.bsky.social, specifically episode 507 which has Hogfather info.
Something about the train being safer or faster, perhaps? We thought it was mentioned briefly, but we can’t find it now, so perhaps we imagined it!
They’d also need a small fleet of brooms to take the loyal dwarfs as well as the Low King.
We’ll try and do some comparison for sure. Ben has four versions: the updated edition of the original, Turtle Recall and both versions of the Ultimate one. But not the New Companion (which is from between the updated original and Turtle Recall.)
Is that a steam train - in Ankh-Morpork? Psychologist Craig Hildebrand-Burke joins Liz and Ben to put on our anoraks and write "40" in our notebooks for a gradely discussion of #TerryPratchett's penultimate #Discworld novel: Raising Steam! #Pratchat90
