and to be clear: don't throw your game away because you aren't having fun playing it. just speaking from my personal experience of making a series of essentially movement-fpses. its a discipline of constant pleasure, for me. even when it is ugly and infuriating. i love it deeply and know it is good
brush burial was always good & i always enjoyed playing it starting with the first build i ever made, on day 3 of development. i boot up my own game & play it for hours. not a universal experience, but it is possible to just make something and love it, even as it takes on a wild and unexpected shape

well, im laying the groundwork for it (the new inventory system was designed w controller in mind) but i dont think its gonna make it into this patch. im having trouble finishing it up as-is, for many reasons, feature creep being among them

yeah i export the models separately as .fbx files, but having them in one .blend allows me to animate them in tandem. and its not as cluttered as it sounds: the only rigs in the game are one generic humanoid, fennel, and sigg
ik its also possible to link .blend files together and modify them simultaneously. thats how a friend of mine does it for their game. but i never learned how to do that
its not too bad once you get it set up. just need to have both the player and enemy rigs in the same .blend file. i avoided it for years because i thought itd be too hard, but when i actually sat down to do it, i had an animation done within hours. ofc it looked terrible but thats why we practice
