I personally would say the Bissell Building (Faculty of Information and the Robarts Library) on the University of Toronto Campus is much uglier. It's brutalist architecture.

I didn’t know this, did you? Amazing!
Hopefully you can find some new slippers that are as comfy and long-lasting as the old ones.
Oh my.

It's also capitalism. They need access to a large workforce that they can pay low wages to keep their businesses operating so they can keep building their fortunes.
There are some Lego marketplaces you could try as well. The elves sets were discontinued years ago so any sealed one could have jacked up prices. Check out Brick Owl and Bricklink.
A relief, for sure. Take care.
I am so sorry for your loss.

Hey, Canada. A queer indigenous Albertan, here. Alberta is Canada’s punchline. I get it, believe me. The UCP has 100% earned it.
But my trans relatives here are having a tough time, particularly our youth. The UCP has enabled discrimination for those so inclined. That’s taking a toll. 1/2
My male partner replied "Signs of a lonely man: You're always driving" when I read this one to him. 😆
(We take turns driving, especially on longer trips.)
The CBC made this clever & cute video that uses kids to explain the rules of curling:
This is a real man.
I have also seen it mentioned many times that knitting is the basis for computer programming/coding, since it, too, is a binary system.

I have not. I did, however, sculpt a tiny bust of Captain Jean-Luc Picard out of Babybel cheese wax. It had to live in the freezer since we lived in Jamaica at the time.

I'm sorry for your loss, Steve. Your tribute to your dad is lovely. Take care.
Most of the AI push seems to be coming from American oligarchs and their supporters. But I've gained a hell of a lot more enjoyment from indie and international shows and movies than from Hollywood ones in the past 10 years. The world isn't running out of ideas. Far from it.
I guarantee you there are millions of fresh ideas out there, waiting to be taken seriously, no AI needed. And I guarantee you there are millions of people who will be interested in those ideas. They just might not be the people society is used to catering to.
