He will probably need a splenectomy in the future more likely than not but right now his liver stuff needs to be gotten under control before that can be considered

In two weeks he has a recheck to see what his bloodwork says, if it's improved then we continue the way we are currently but if there is no notable improvement then we will consider:

- sedated aspirates of his liver / gallbladder / etc for cytological analysis

Or

- exploratory surgery

Mocha (3 yrs old) had a vet appointment yesterday with poor results :(

His liver + gallbladder enzymes are significantly elevated, his gallbladder + bile duct are dialated and thickened, and he has a large spleen mass

He's been put on a handful of meds and has a recheck in 2 weeks

Rough guidelines, I scanned the sketch, blew it up in size on clip studio, then used my tablet as a light box to lay out the final version

Oh yeah I see what you mean now, honestly the grand majority of species specific rescues are run out of people's homes or are started out that way! Most rescues rely heavily on public or grant based funding which often doesn't cover the ability to have purpose built facilities, it's really complex

It's all good! And yeah he's doing great, he just turned 4 in August!

And yeah I agree entirely, much work to be done and many things to change in the world

And it wasn't impromptu, we have been rescuing ferrets for 7 years 😂
