The one I worked at had all kinds of cool items. One day in the Music Library I see a glass display case holding a piece of lined notebook paper with handwriting on it. I recognize the song, and then the librarian says: "Oh, that's Kurt Cobain's original lyrics for 'Smells like teen spirit'..." 🤯

You might consider donating it to a university library associated with animation or television. (I'm serious.) (1/2)

I've used the 301-S for years with no problems (like the current compact model, but with the safer handled straight cutter.) Been a champ, but it's not high volume. Only issue was the rail push-adjusters sticking once. Bees wax cured that! 😁 Have plenty of extra blades on hand for sharp cuts.

Yesterday's thrift store haul. Vallejo paint rack for $5. TARDIS jewelry box (will reuse for a Dr. Who action figure.)
And something not often seen: a manual receipt/note machine from the 1940s. A roll of paper inside pulls through front slot. Tear off when done!

I feel your pain... I've been in an artistic drought for months, for various reasons. Finally did some sketching and it feels so much better!

The effective federal corporate income tax rate:

1950: 50%
1990: 25%
2020: 13%

Stop asking "but how we will pay for it?" Restore the corporate tax rate.

That is how we will pay for it.

At last Hungary has another chance to become it's own county once more, and an ally to the EU & Ukraine, not a Russian puppet...

As you can tell by my good Irish name 😉, I'm Hungarian, though I was raised in the US by parents fleeing Communism. Hungarians have a long history of fighting control by other countries.

To have one of our act like a dictator and court Russian domination always rankled me.

Hungarian flag waving in front of a bright sun

Talpra magyar! (Rise Hungarian!)

Petőfi Sándor's famous anthem called Hungarians to revolt against the Austrians in 1848. Though ultimately they failed, his cherished poem is just as relevant today as Hungarians finally tossed off Orbán’s yoke! (1/2)

My fellow writers might not want to hear this, but AI is a useful tool for certain aspects of the craft, like for instance when you’re engaged in the process of being a talentless shitbag hack who is too lazy to do any fucking writing.

How Trump Took the U.S. to War With Iran

This reporting makes clear that the war in Iran was driven by Bibi Netanyahu, not the American people. The results have been catastrophic. Our world is less safe.

Israel cannot keep dictating U.S. military and foreign policy. Congress needs GOVERN.

Hang in there! It's a hard time to be a creative and many of us struggle. (I'm familiar with guilt and health issues. ☹️)

I'm partial to Mark Hamill as the Trickster in the 90s Flash TV show. Though arguably he harkened back to the Riddler.

The thing I loved about Gorshin is his total commitment. He didn't just move, he capered... He took every opportunity to overact. 😁

Chester the scaredy dog

Chester the scaredy dog

This is my dog.

The same animal that burns with the eternal rage of a thousand suns when the UPS truck shows up.

Cowering at my feet and shaking in fear because there's a fly in the house.

A FLY... 🙄

Pejac Transforms Basic Graph Paper into Detailed, Trompe-L'œil Tableaux Pejac's graphite drawings on graph paper challenge our sense of space and the possibilities of the "blank slate."

I've always been a fan of trompe l'oeil, whether murals, paintings or chalk art. This artist brings a smile to my face. I used so many composition books in school...

Why is this only happening now? It should have been done decades ago. They won't pass it, they'll never give up the money they make while in office.
