I finished porting the first puzzle from Crystal Story: Awakening to Duskside. :)
There's still a lot of polishing and stuff I need to do, but I'll save it for the end.
Mina can't pull the sword out yet, but it's here! :P

It might not look too different yet, but the external file saving, loading and erasing works on a basic level! I'll keep integrating the menu, inventory, and room states over the next sessions.

I polished some more stuff up, and I'm happy to say I have a working turn-based system now. :)

I've been suffering through depression since the end of last year, and I'm not over it, but working on a different project has been helping me keep my mind off things, and the encouragement from folks to keep working on it has also helped.

Outlook's calendar pinged me–turns out it's my 13th anniversary at work.
2026 hasn't been off to a great start, but at this point I'm thankful to just have my job.
I gave up on making a career out of making games, but my projects provide comfort for me in rough times.

Found & implemented more fitting (at least for now) SFX for terrain-specific footsteps, mumble voices for character text, melodic acorns, crackling torches, & household sounds for interactable objects & light switches.

Cutscenes can now move the player & hide/show the textbox throughout a scene. These & other actions are unstable & finicky to execute without glitches.
