Starting to look into my UT renewal after falling off my contract.
The last year of my contract was for 10 states and Planner CS with 1 state. Total cost was $8,396.
The current online renewal is $16,056, after $12,904 in "special credits" and discounts.

My hairstylist was doing taxes on her phone, and I took it to help (while she cut my hair), and it was a wildly uncomfortable system.
I couldn't see the tax return. Didn't have the W-2 it imported for her. Told her I had no way to know if it was right or not. I couldn't *see* anything.
I think 8am is my "late" morning anymore.
I'm apparently "I slept wrong and now my hips ache like I ran a half marathon" years old today.
My anxiety/stress brain taking drag bingo and one mention of Backrooms and turning it into a dream about some creepy, draggy, fun house, nightmare is not appreciated.

Here's an example of how complex PDX-metro taxes are (and taxes in general). I just transmitted three 1040s (individuals):
Two PDX sole proprietors and an s-corp owner with two states.
Fifteen tax returns. For three taxpayers.
Oh man, I had not heard this in forever.

I have roughly a third of all my projects for this tax season currently on hold because the software has errors in Oregon filing.
One of those errors is hidden in the XML metadata that's part of the e-file transmission. You'd never know it's there, looking at the tax returns.
How to know you're a valued customer of a stupidly expensive professional tax software (this is sarcasm Thomson Reuters).
- Their only tech support or bug reporting is via the phone.
- I can't log into my account via Firefox, Edge, or Chrome to get my account information to make a call.
No brain, it is not time for weekend mode! It's not even Friday, and you work on Saturdays right now!
