I was 157 days old when humans 1st stepped on the Moon. Obvs I don't remember that. Or have any clear memories of the other landings that took place over the next three-and-a-half years. But tonight humans are heading up to the Moon to orbit it once more. I'm so excited. Safe travels Artemis II.

Happy International Women's Day to Everyone!
Here’s to Strong Women,
May We Know Them,
May We Be Them,
May We Raise Them!
It's the 19th November … in case you were wondering #InternationalMensDay
Really loved watching The Walsh Sisters via the BBC. I knew about the books, but haven't read them, so have no idea if the adaptation's faithful, but thoroughly enjoyed it - as you can tell by the fact I've just just finished it when BBC have only shown the first two episodes …
No, it's not Winston Churchill. And that's most definitely not FDR either …
So, you go out for a walk down the street & come back to see the orange loon from across the pond doing his monotone shouty best to explain why he’s just stirred up the entire Region@ - presumably so that he can keep America ‘out of the Middle East” …
But I always knew what the point of that was, what the aim of each treatment was, what the expectations were. There are other things to contend with, and ongoing issues to address, of course, but I finally feel I am 'getting there'.
I could not, had I been a millionaire, have had better, more dedicated care. People have been so determined to make things better, and to solve several issues. I've, at times, felt like a bit of an experiment.
But today, since it also marks the week I was finally signed off from daily, then bidurnal, thrice weekly, twice weekly and weekly medical interventions, is the time to say "Thank you" to the marvellous NHS staff who have taken care of me so well.
Six months tomorrow since I was admitted to hospital with sepsis. It's been a long old haul but I am certainly in a much, much better place both physically and, if I'm honest, mentally. The help and good wishes I've gotten have been key, of course.
I just saw someone refer to an 'old school overhead projector'. Dear Lord … I remember when they were cutting-edge school technology and I feel so old …
We see what happened from every angle and we’re being told that we are watching completely the opposite. Has a government ever been so determined to gaslight so many people?
We're all back after the Christmas/New Year break, so time for blowing own trumpet …
presenting my latest book - available at all good bookshops, online outlets etc.
To those who celebrate - A Happy Christmas!
To those who don't - A great day!
Algorithms have a lot to answer for. My Mum passed away on Friday. I mentioned it on Facebook. Now my feed is peppered with 'plant a tree in memory of a loved one' and 'make special jewellery from your loved ones ashes'. It's not right, is it?
Who's seen that beautiful just risen Joseph Wright Moon?
On a positive note, amid all this doom & gloom, we have garden wildflower news – a beautiful coral-red corncockle has poked up in the middle of the meadow grass! It's a first for us. One tiny flower, one great leap forward in rewilding. Happy days!
So, instead of cooling rain, we've ben given a five-minute heavy shower that has now stopped and simply added to the humidity … marvellous. #heatwaveuk
Shout out to those currently enduring this non-Covid, cold-like virus with a hacking, horrible cough and gruesome sore throat. Please tell me it ends soon?
For almost 2 years I’ve been doing a ‘daily’ meditation using the Balance App & today I am proud to say that I managed my 100th consecutive day of meditating. I was partly expecting the App to give me a pat on the back … but I suppose that’s not really the point.
In 1895 a horse named Sir Visto won the Derby. He went on to win the St Leger. The day after his Derby win, a little baby was christened in the town of Derby. He was named Sirvisto and he was my great-grand-uncle!
You know that First Aid kit you bought from Aldi all those years ago? Turns out they're fantastic if you cut your finger or develop hypothermia. Anything else? Not so much …
LOVED #DoctorWho #WishWorld No spoilers here yet, but definitely looking forward to next week!
And 2 things: 1 I now understand why they filmed both series pretty much back-to-back and 2 has there ever been a more cinematically beautiful series?
Damn Russell T Davies & Co - you have me so teased & confused rewatching #DoctorWho episodes for hints, that I even spent 10 minutes studying Dugga Doo for clues …
I've just read that 'Lucia Montanelli from Vesper Bar has created a striking cocktail using Everleaf and leftover champagne'. No problem with the Everleaf - I used that non-alcoholic spirit a lot. But who the heck has leftover champagne?
Watch Doctor Who and fell in love with Murray Gold's brilliant song Dugga Doo from the Interstellar Song Contest? Not only is it on YouTube, but on a 24/7 constant loop. It's got 2 million subscribers an unirritating ear worm!
Here is it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=uR30...
Do UK folk have suggestions for fruity frozen/iced drinks from the usual places? I know they are pricey, but can budget for an occasional treat, so no chiding please! I need to avoid high caffeine & both Costa & Starbies versions are high in it. Help?
You inadvertently take everything with you 'on your back', if you like. The new & the old readily weave together. And soon new folk will join you - folk who never knew the old place – & that will be ok & everything will meld just fine. It's about the folk not the location.
Everton fans leaving Goodison may fear that the new place will be somehow 'less'. That they'll need to work to ensure the memories stay alive. We moved from the Baseball Ground to Pride Park. It's fine.
And Murray Gold is an absolute musical genius!
