Another data point: the number of impressions vs position shows the scraping-to-100 problem was never really eliminated, just reduced... and recently spiked again. Depends on whether your queries are being tracked, I guess.
Note how there are still impressions upto position 100, then nothing.

Hey @glenngabe.bsky.social , something is happening... GSC has been extra slow at loading data since Thursday last, really long 'prompts' are appearing in the data, and impressions are up/positions down again (for me at least).

Well, it turns out this is not a 'leak'...it is most likely people using Google search as if they were in AI Mode; relying on AI Overviews to answer their 'prompt'. There has been a notable increase in really long queries captured in GSC recently.

- installation is a breeze. No command line mumbo-jumbo. Simple logins avoid the whole project/credential file nightmare.
- building a local MCP server with a user interface opens up a lot of possibilities.

Thoughts so far:
- it's not significantly faster, although no direct comparison tests have been run yet -- I want to compare tokens used; they should be a lot lower.
- getting an AI to NOT use the API terminology was surprisingly difficult --I had previously installed the official analytics-mcp.

Experimental...a local GA4 MCP server with a simple installer that doesn't require the AI to figure out how to work with the APIs.
Premise: AI's shouldn't be forced to work with raw API methods. Using AE connector tech should dramatically reduce the effort to query and process the responses.
