top tier ligotti easy, one of the sharpest poe pastiches ever done, the reason he pushes the genre forward is that it isn't suppose to end with terrified screaming, we've transcended that, but that each tale ends with the deranged laughter of madness. a giggle in the fathomless dark

Establishes lore in enticing hints, no needlessly info dump, tension starts quick instead of common failure in ff films. naturalistic acting, long periods of silence, good authentic feel. weakest performance is audio of the detective, rest feel great including the crimetok section. Fun watch!
Thank you, Chainsaw Man
goodbye, chainsaw man <3
Meat & blood, oil & chrome. Copper wiring. Mesh. A drill. Feel the same tension/pain like listening to metal drag against metal. I remember a scar on my thumb, from when I cut it on a broken piece of metal. Human lust, hot steam, cold steel, we open ourselves like sewer pipes. A movie is a dream.
in my Senritsu Kaiki File Kowasugi! era
Lol. I bailed on this thread. But it lives on in my letterboxd. boxd.it/9OStj
the kudo method (tm) never fails
“If £1b were to suddenly appear in their bank account, would euthanasia still be necessary?
“If the answer is no, that's not euthanasia; it's social murder.”

I can rationalize it, because the first thing you do when you discover something is seek out people to share the experience with but if you know its a swamp, you might hesitate entirely. I agree its the primary joy tho, people just need to not over expose themselves to the sea of human opinion imo
tremendous game, brilliant and fun, you'll conjure a hundred amazing ideas from one reading. Its the kind of ttrpg that compels you to go out and evangelize friends to come to the table.
receding hairline, body like a gumdrop, motorcycle jacket. thats ohio man
I'm working on a theory that being online ruins(?) Maybe suffocates the experience of new media? There is no pure experience but I think the overwhelming voice we expose ourselves to does harm or hinder how we engage with things
rewatching Godzilla vs Biollante via the 4K disc and i've got a hot take as someone who was raised on kaiju films
i think
godzilla vs biollante might actually just be *the* best versus film in the entire series. flat out.
they got andy serkis for the whole series on audiobook so im about to have a great year
watching lazarus since people keep telling me I need to watch blue eyed samurai and I just refuse to listen
Last Samurai Standing is phenomenal. Go enjoy! Knowing Netflix we'll never see a s2.
Top 3 in the franchise easy.
has been deeply impactful on my folk horror-y fabula game, couldn't recommend more
I'm vibrating
Soulframe is the game I've always dreamt of writing.
The things I'm cooking for this big tabletop dungeon is some of my best work
True Ending complete on Silent Hill f -- all too familiar earthly horrors, beautifully translating folklore into grotesque and frightening visuals, but also managing a complicated, moving narrative that hit me in my heart. I had an amazing time.
Sinners (2025) flesh & blood ecclesiastic film, beautiful & lowdown, the world will not leave those it marginalizes alone, seeking always something to extract. Hegemonic vampires, the singularity of cultural sound, & the quagmire of faith under empire. Dead Rating: Sinew Strings & Bloody Tears.
