I can’t find it, but I read a post here yesterday that has stuck with me - that most people don’t have a political opinion, they just have ‘my guys’ that they vote for

A bit dumb today. Tried using the credit card to enter the metro barrier and it declined, so used a myki instead. Now thinking that free pt might be the reason the cc was rejected. Now thinking it’s weird that the myki was accepted!

The Non-Nazi Bastards Who Helped Hitler Rise To Power - Behind the Bastards This week we did something a little bit different. In Episode 13, Robert is joined by Naomi Ekperigin (Couples Therapy Podcast) and we will be getting ‘behind’ Hitler again, but our focus is not going...

Apropos of Kennett’s dangerous suggestion that the coalition and one nation should negotiate a grand coalition, here’s a great podcast episode

The UN General Assembly has passed a resolution declaring transatlantic slavery a grave crime against humanity and calling for reparations (some 12.5m African people were taken as slaves). The US and Israel voted no; Australia abstained (among others including the EU countries, UK, Canada).

I think the size options are only 120L and 240L. No shrinkflation with bins

So here I am thinking that seeing the occasional R rated video clip from Gaza or Iran is just an 'on the internet' thing and main stream media is reporting business as usual, then I turn on Aljazeera to see a 2 year with cigarette burns on his legs after he was tortured by the Israeli Military.

We're planning to change how often we collect your rubbish bin in 2027

In June, Council will make a final decision about a proposed change to kerbside rubbish bins.
From July 2027, we are planning to change rubbish bin collections from weekly to fortnightly and provide households with a larger rubbish bin. Food and garden organics (FOGO) bins will still be picked up every week.
There will be no changes to your other bins.
We want to make sure you understand the proposed change, the reasons behind it, and the support available to manage it.
Why are we planning to change to fortnightly rubbish collections?
Fortnightly rubbish collections will keep costs down for ratepayers and reduce waste sent to landfill. 26 Victorian councils have already successfully made this change.
We have been rolling out changes to our kerbside waste service in stages since 2022. This will be the last stage.
We have learnt from local trials
We have been trialling fortnightly rubbish collections in parts of Hadfield, Brunswick and Brunswick West.
We provided trial properties with larger rubbish bins to suit their needs.
They are putting more food waste into weekly food and garden organics bins, instead of fortnightly rubbish bins. and are paying less than those with weekly rubbish collections.
Tell us how we can help you
If this change proceeds (subject to Council's June 2026 decision), we want to make it as easy as possible for everyone. Tell us how else we could support you during the change which would occur following Council's June decision.

Feedback is welcome until Sunday 26 April 2027.

For me, I reckon a fortnightly pick up is better than needlessly higher rates for more pick ups

Really sick of politicians saying ‘let me be clear’ and then dodging a question. This phrase is the 2020s equivalent of Keating’s repeating a word a couple of times to emphasise his point, only this time ‘let me be clear’ only replaces saying ‘uhhhhmmmm’ before a weaselly sentence

A stupid decision that is already reviled. If the RBA could work slightly harder than ‘price up = interest rates up’ that would work well

Remember back around 2010 when the government paid to have people replace their fuel tanks with LPG tanks in the boot? I don’t think we are far from that returning

Truly though, anyone that is angry about the price of fuel is right to be angry at the Australian government, who is wholly supportive of the war that has lead to fuel prices going up

Say what you will about petrol prices in Australia, but at least the RSF has lost its lifeline in Sudan because of all this
