I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.
18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

It’s okay, not like fraudulent tax filings aren’t rampant or anything. This will cost us more than the 6,000 salaries would save.
How much is Congress cutting from their $6.5 billion/year budget? Don’t you think congress can operate on say, maybe, $5 Billion? And each congressman has 18 staff, they could operate on say, 14?
What about the White House?
I went to Target twice a week and spent at least $600 a month there. The day they made the announcement I stopped shopping there. I’ve had to go there once because I needed something and I left with just what I came for. No extras in the basket.

Over the last nine days, the house has been out of session while the Democracy is sold for parts.
Would have been nice had the Democrat come back on their own and sued, yelled, stood up, etc. Anything but stayed home
Very few politicians are in it for the right reasons, you are one that is.

If you are a federal worker being offered a buyout, I would advise against taking it.
Of course, this is a personal decision for everyone and it’s your choice.
But these offers are a rush job. The legality is questionable and this admin does not keep to its word.
They aren’t firing for a reason.
The head of the FAA, Mike Whitaker, resigned on January 20 — one year into his 5 year term — after facing relentless criticism from Musk for not approving SpaceX missions quickly enough.
The Senate confirmed him unanimously in 2023.
No acting FAA head has been appointed.
