The Danzigers and Quinton's family have both kept their kids as distant as possible from Carlos, who is now off on his own adventures. But Brian does know Quinton's niece and nephew. And they *might* know Mickey from "Third Death of the Little Clay Dog".
I have a brand-new Dillal and Matheson story coming out in this charity Anthology: youtu.be/e3_lJbXPhcs?...

Yup. But he is a hellion who deeply values his friends (of all shapes, kinds, colors, orientations, and oddities), and chooses them carefully.
I am also laughing. I suppose it was OK for any of the groomsmen who were still single, though.
If Brian had aged with the original publication date, he'd be 28 now, but since the books didn't take place in real-time, but in Book Time, he'd be about 17 now. Harper would be 43, but the Grey slows her aging process, so she doesn't look much older than she was at the end of Revenant.
A small watercolor painting on plain cotton paper of four bright cobalt blue cornflowers (also called bachelor's buttons) and two green buds with pink-and blue tips on slender, dusty-green stems with slim leaves. center details are in pink, purple and white. by me (kat richardson) April 16. 2026.

Whoohoo! Congrats!
Home from SquatchCon in Port Angeles last night. Fell asleep very early; still manged to sleep until Noon. dang... It's always a fun little con and I was lucky to be on great panels with amazing people.
Alas, it's unlikely I'll write more in that series at all, since it's now 20 years old. Also: Carlos is a cranky bastard and ain't talking to me much lately. 😏

First time I've ever gotten the salt-on-wet watercolor technique to work. Indanthron blue wash with off-white stars created by dropping coarse kosher salt on the wet (but not pooling) painted surface. #watercolor
I don't do room parties anymore, either, but I do hang out in the bar and drink soda or tea with my friends.
I'm off to @norwescon.org this weekend. Come find me!
watercolor of a single sweet violet: 5 two-toned petals in violet and white around a bright yellow cone-shaped center. A few dark purple lines radiate from the center out on 3 of the 5 petals. A green stem arches up from the top of the flower and down into a cluster of three circular green petals. Lamali handmade watercolor journal, mixed pallet. by me (Kat Richardson) March 25, 2026.

Thank you!

Lovely!!
watercolor of two large fantasy flowers—multiple layers of transparent yellow petals with red edges and centers, metallic gold stems, stamens, and seeds—floating in air.
Big floating fantasy flowers—yellow, multi-petal transparent flowers with red edges and metallic gold stems and stamens. Big and flamboyant. Because that makes me smile. #watercolor

The big publishing industry seems to be teetering on the edge at the moment, so now might be a good time for them to consider a more efficient and cleaner system than sticking with Word.
*gag* yeah, Word has legacy issues and rather than drawing a line, M$ just keeps on piling more cruft on top of the old cruft, resulting in a program that runs slower than a snail in molasses during winter, crashes, freezes, and simply breaks documents more often than it does its job.
Delighted watching this guy rocking out with his harp.
Dang, I hate that program. You have all my sympathy. A long time ago I was a contractor at M$ and swore I would never use Word again once I stopped working there (I use LibreOffice.) I turn off all the "assistance" while I'm in creating mode and run them only after I'm done. Still sucks though.
small watercolor of some fluffy little yellow chicks in both wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques. the chicks are in various silly poses: standing, walking, jumping, dancing, or upside down. by me (Kat Richardson) March 20, 2026. small watercolor of sweet violets and dandelions. Very childish, not too good, to be honest. Also some tiny M birds in the blue sky. Lamali handmade paper watercolor journal, mixed pallet. By me (Kat Richardson) March 20, 2026 #watercolor

small watercolor of what I think is a dried fennel twig, browns and blacks, on a soft green-and-brown wash. Handmade Lamali cotton paper, mixed pallet. by me (Kat Richardson) March 18, 2026.
Some dried fennel twigs with their dried flower clusters and seed heads on long brown stems in front of a green and brown wash.
This was one of the first times I've worked with very fine brushes. Not great. But it looks like I remember. #watercolor

Dandelion puffs using loose washes of yellow and green with sprinkles of salt to create random patterns of less pigment within the washes. Three stems imply three flowers with small brown lines indicating the center of each flower and the seed on the flying puffs created by the lighter sections of salt patterning. Bee paper, mixed pallet. by me (Kat Richardson) March 16, 2026.
