Trump Administration Aims to Spend $45 Billion to Expand Immigrant Detention (Gift Article) A request for proposals for new detention facilities and other services would allow the government to expedite the contracting process and rapidly expand detention.

We can’t afford libraries or dementia research or forest rangers, but we can spend $45B in 2yrs to enrich private prison companies - “The companies + their investors had been anticipating a huge windfall when Mr. Trump took over. But what is on offer now would dwarf that.” (reposting to fix #’s!)

What happens when Apple changes time? What happens when our common language is dictated by broligarchs and racists?
