And the map of the streetcars in Chicago was insane. You could pretty much get anywhere without a car.

My folks have a lakehouse by dowagiac and only one car, but whenever they ever go separate itโ€™s rarely by Amtrak because the schedules are so infrequent.
Theyโ€™re more likely to drive down to south bend to drop/pick up the other because south shore trains are frequent

Iโ€™ve had some lag the last couple days on buses that I donโ€™t get on trains and donโ€™t recall getting on buses before but not a straight up insufficient fare flag. Even a lag feels stressful on a bus tho cause youโ€™re holding up the line & therefore the whole bus ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿš

A split bar chart of YouGov polling data with the headline: "Americans are most likely to say T. Rex is their favorite dinosaur, but many don't have a favorite."

The chart has the sub-headline: "Which of the following is your favorite dinosaur? (%)."

The chart has the note: "Note: "Other" includes responses of archaeopteryx, spinosaurus, plesiosaur, ankylosaurus, allosaurus, parasaurolophus, dilophosaurus, diplodocus, iguanadon, and pachycephalosaurus, as well as responses of "other." We know pterodactyls and plesiosaurs aren't dinosaurs. Opinion about dinosaurs comes from the question, "How much do you like or dislike dinosaurs?""

A shocking new poll result: Many Americans somehow don't have a favorite dinosaur.

And only 6% give the correct answer (triceratops).

Kopi in Andersonville has a fun travel vibe and a great back patio, tre kronor on foster is a full brunch restaurant but they also have an amazing back patio in the summer.
If you wanna go a little further, Westonโ€™s cafe in Jeff park has a history mural on their patio and a little stage for events

Jobs alone cannot solve trans unemployment A complex matrix of poverty and punishment fuels the trans unemployment crisis, as community members experience roughly twice the rates of joblessness as cisgender people

I genuinely do not understand the impulse to scold people for identifying the economy as being very bad right now for them and people like them

Especially on The Trans Website

The trans unemployment rate is DOUBLE the rate for cis people, and ~40% of trans people are underemployed

I'm a WNBA player. Don't use athletes like me to exclude trans women. IOC's policy invites unequal scrutiny. We cannot choose our genes or chromosomes, but we can choose whether we protect the dignity of every athlete.

WNBA star Brianna Turner has written an article denouncing the new invasive sex testing requirements of the IOC.

I love how in that era people left their bikes propped against the sidewalk, Iโ€™ve seen it in Chicago photos too, itโ€™s like itโ€™s got a life of its own just chillin upright on its pedal

There was also a militaristic motivation to it that many disliked. By carving up the medieval streets that were useful for urban warfare in previous revolutions, the govt could more easily bring the military down a wide straight boulevard to crush rebellion

Another reminder that government regulations are good actually, and dismantling science and civil service is bad

It's sitting right there.

I got excited about this til I realized it was a subtweet lol.
But my high school really did put the whole school on the red line a number of times! Since we didnโ€™t have our own gym, so weโ€™d use another schoolโ€™s that was right up the (rail)road for pep rallies & stuff.

Look at all that water and land with greenery. What a miracle that the Earth even exists, and that every single one of us was born on it. We should treat each other and our planet much better.
