Locked in due to Storm Dave. Good time to make homemade mushroom gyoza!
Retroactively applying this new law to those who have been waiting in a queue due to Migrationsverket's incompetence is just abject cruelty. However, cruelty to immigrants is the motto of the current government, so I expect it to go through unchallenged.

The Kinderdijk windmills were really beautiful, well worth a visit and a fun water bus ride from central Rotterdam.
In Rotterdam for a concert this weekend!
In beautiful Karlskrona to serve on the examination committee for Waleed Abdeen's PhD thesis at BTH.

Good turn-out for day 1 of the WASP Software Engineering and Technology workshop!
Starting with a keynote from Chris Parnin (Microsoft Research), "Building and Evaluating AI-Powered Apps: Challenges, Lessons, and Future Research Directions".
First fall colors starting to appear. Gorgeous weekend.

This is valid. Sweden's pernicious anti-immigrant stance and policies are only going to hurt the country. I like a lot of things here, but I don't feel particularly welcome and don't have any faith in its government or confidence in the long-term.
If you're in #Jonsered, also grab lunch at Brödfabriken. Incredible sandwiches and pastries. (And follow up with a beer at Poppels)
Visiting the gardens in #Jonsered today. The garden is small, but nicely curated, with a lot of hiking paths.
Also revisited Bohus Fortress, a nearby (and more intact) castle. Not as peaceful, but still a great piece of tangible history.
Ventured out to Ragnhildsholmen, the ruins of a 1200s castle outside of Gothenburg. It was beautiful, and nice to be alone with only the sound of wind.

Been missing American pastrami (made with beef - it's usually pork or poultry in Europe), so I got brisket from a butcher and made my own. Made reubens for dinner, served with the pickles I made the other day.
Fermented pickles in dill, garlic, horseradish, and black pepper. Perfect for summer.
Today's adventures in cooking - lettuce wraps with tofu, a cabbage slaw, and a spicy peanut sauce. Not the prettiest, but the sauce is addictive. Will definitely revisit.
Made a fermented salsa. It was mind blowing. Need to add that to my regular rotation. (Pictured here with fish tacos)
At University College London this week for a fun workshop on AI-powered software engineering: www.ucl.ac.uk/crest/events...

I highly doubt Facebook is the only company pulling this shit

The photo is of the backs of people sitting in black plastic chairs, like at a conference. The person on the left is only half seen and wears a dark blue polo. The person the image is focused on wears a black hoodie with white writing on the back that reads “#NaaS No as a Service”
🍻 Here’s to you guys finding this funnier than my co-workers did.
One more push: I am hiring 1-2 PhD students to research the use of LLMs to augment human-written test suites.
