Last night the Jewish holiday of Purim began, where we celebrate and honor the courage it takes to resist state violence and empire. We stand in solidarity with Palestinians who face increased violence on Purim, while already enduring the Israeli government’s genocide and occupation.

I think I’ve found the dissertation writing promised land - a cafe a 3 min walk from my house that has breakfast AND lunch food, plays 2010s hipster music, has tons of tables and 2 bathrooms 🥹 it’s beautiful and I’m never leaving

I’m so grateful to have gotten the chance to learn with them, and will miss them immensely! Thank you @ccnyhistory.bsky.social for a wonderful semester! Long live the early modern! 3/3

This course taught me to think about history from scratch, and to think about what history really means to me and to all of us. I’m so proud of my students, who rolled with the punches when there were bumps in the road and impressed me beyond measure with their energy and curiosity. 2/3

And just like that, I’m done teaching my first ever lecture course (minus a huge pile of grading I’m choosing to ignore until tomorrow)! Building and prepping a whole survey course by myself was so much more of a challenge than I thought, but also more of a delight — 1/3

Why does diving back into my archive notes after a couple months feel the same as actually reading archival documents?? I can’t read the handwriting and there are all these weird abbreviations everywhere… the early modern is calling from inside the house

I made a Starter Pack for Women's and Gender History because when I looked yesterday I couldn't seen one - sorry if it's now been superseded.

You know the drill by now: please just let me know if you'd like to be added, and equally if you'd prefer not to be listed, just shout.
