The Go Play NW community’s commitment to accessibility, be it in terms of Covid-safety, scholarships, or our code of conduct, is our way of saying that playing games with your friends is deeply important and meaningful.
There is something special about Go Play NW that motivates us all to put in the effort to make it happen year after year—and that motivates you to participate and support us! Play and joy are fundamental to our ability to flourish.
And as we transition from the full-steam fundraising of the membership drive to a more slow and steady pace of posts from now until Go Play NW Seattle July 24-26, I want to reflect on why I, and the rest of the Go Play NW volunteers, have been typing our little fingers raw with all these posts
In the midst of all this fundraising, we held Go Play NW Online! We connected with old friends and new, played and playtested games, ate pancakes, and had a lovely time!

- Blue tack/painter’s tape. While it’s rarely a truly blustery day in Seattle, the wind can come whipping down the plain through the plaza enough to upend components. A little easily removed adhesive to stick ‘em down can make all the difference to enjoyment of an outdoor game

Finally, two *huge* improvements to the Seattle Summer event:
At $15k, we'll be able to make our indoor space more accessible and pleasant with pipe and drape sound baffling
At $16k, we'll be able to rent tents for outdoor gaming areas. Believe us when we say they're a game-changer!
At $14k, we can chip in for the costs of running the Zine Zone, currently generously covered by Brendan and Kate. We'll also be able to spruce up badges with fun designs!

Fundraising is a strange and uncertain thing. A lot of the “extras” beyond the base goal, aren’t really extras at all, but important for providing the level of accessibility that is core to what makes Go Play NW what it is. Please help us make our Seattle Summer event all that it can be!
