Back in the studio, organizing supplies and applying for jobs. Outside, a disturbed man is yelling about having a big boner as he checks the bins for bottles to recycle. It’s spring in Saint John

Yeah that’s how Wonkette rolls, they are hilarious
Random advice for those who can use it: if you have something hard you know you have to do, do it first thing and enjoy the rest of your day.
"A final thought: is it time to focus more on taking action on what we already know rather than simply calling for better data?"
How many UBI or 4 day week trials have we done by now?
Had a first date last night that I was not originally expecting and had a lovely time.
Happy Tuesday morning to those who celebrated 4/20 a little too hard
Breaking evil
Is that snow? Fuck you too Monday
I think I’ll get a big back tattoo that says “CHAOTIC GOOD"
The Columbine massacre was on this date in 1999. Instead of energizing our country to get gun violence under control, it kicked off a new normal. One of the best explanations ever of journalism's destructive impact on mass shootings came from Roger Ebert in his review of Gus Van Sant’s “Elephant.”
This is proof that it is possible things to get better.
For one thing, the Sandy Hook families can finally find peace after all they've been through, and for another, we can bid goodbye to Alex Jones' InfoWars.
And Alex Jones can go fuck himself.
Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?
Let go of that feelin'
Dunno if it’s just a 4/20 thing but I am getting crazy time effects today
Less grieving, more believing
This was a fun one for me to write. It's the Angine de Poitrine argument for universal basic income. We could have more weird, awesome, truly human stuff like this if we all had UBI. We could have more Einsteins too. And because those things are true, the cost of NOT doing UBI isn't worth it.
It is a useful skill to be able to point your surfboard down and duck-dive through waves of sadness
Having been homeless, and having had friends who have been homeless, I can say it is almost entirely an economic issue. Lack of affordable housing, lack of universal basic income. And right now, massive layoffs, industries collapsing. Saying it's a "mental health issue" ignores the actual causes.
Jordan Peterson ad on YouTube “You’re not everything you could be & you know it” University education for the price of 3 days *$400.00???* of groceries. Education, devoid of ideology. Affordable to all *young gullible males* taught by the best *MALES only*. Best sale ever. Sponsored by the Peterson *Jordan* Academy
“Join our thriving, ambitious community *cult* of 40,000 people *silly enough to waste $400.00* Shame on him.
New cult just dropped!
It’s devoid of ideology.
Dear lost vulnerable young men.
If he’s the solution, you don’t want the problem. Talk to a trusted adult.
Preferably a female who cares about you. You have one.
We should have the same laws here as they do in parts of Europe making it illegal for large grocers to throw away food.
The other piece of feedback that I have gotten occasionally, and that I absolutely treasure, is just that I was kind to someone, because it’s something I have to work at after years of Gen X culture filtered through my own uh unusual childhood. I love being the kindest version of me that ever was.
lol just rereading this and it sounds like I don’t care if my daughter is free, I assure you I do. I was thinking “free of the influence of shitty bro influencers”, which I’m fairly confident she will be in her very feminist mom’s home
So young men, I am literally in tears writing this because I have two boys (24 and 3) and I want them to be free and safe and loved. I want my daughter, 5, to be safe and loved. And maybe someday I’ll feel that myself again. The harder we charge away from toxic masculinity the better the world gets
And run toward sanity. All humans are equal. We all have the same rights. We can create a society that is humane and recognizes this and does not force us to kill each other for resources. The Earth is round and it revolves around the sun. And we all deserve love, starting with ourselves. 5/
And of course there will be men who bristle at the word. Grow up, dude, call it humanism if you need to, who fucking cares, the world is burning and you’re still listening to rich weirdos trying to calculate the net worth of humans according to the Great Chain of Being. RUN AWAY FROM THE WEIRDOS 4/
Being a feminist is hardly easy in this world but it is essential. It means you care about half of the species. You see them as your equal, because they are. This shit is so fucking simple you guys. I really cannot emphasize that enough. It is so basic you look insane for getting mad about it. 3/
So, I recommend that. Like, literally say stuff even if it sounds corny like “I think you’re really attractive, I’d like to hang out sometime and see what that’s like.” It’s so simple guys. Just be a fucking human being. And then once you’ve got that down for a bit, be a feminist. And get tougher 2/
I was being cranky about ignorant men earlier so allow me to relate what may be a story you find helpful if like me you have been lonely for a while. I occasionally get feedback from potential partners where they appreciate my directness. Fair enough, women hear a lot of incoherent bullshit I bet 1/
I said it before and I'll say it again:
Giving a pack of Epstein associates a comprehensive list of all children in the country with home address and school listed, sortable by various traits that indicate vulnerability to exploitation, is the literal diametric opposite of keeping kids safe.
VERY COOL PERSON: It's four-twenty, you know what that means?
ME: Hell yeah! [starts shoving blackbirds into a pie]
