I did that with my first two guinea pigs. Pumpkin bullied Lilly constantly. Poor Lilly finally fought back, lunging at Pumpkin & missed. Her teeth sank into the flesh between my thumb & index finger. She froze, let go. Pumpkin hid. I went to the ER. After that, I kept them separated by a grid.
