also i just found like three ways to make this process better after re-reading what i wrote

i think writing down your processes to understand them is super underrated, school makes you hate that stuff but it actually helps you learn stuff when a gun isn't to your head

I'm really new to shader stuff but YEAH DUDE! manipulating stuff at the pixel level is really fun!

also here's a few demons i summoned when i was testing stuff last night

I wrote up my process for this shader because explaining my work helps me understand things better. Making pixels dance involves triangles and lines and bayer matrixes and 3D cubes and it's fun to see how everything clicks together.

this shader I wrote lets me input a color palette then snap an incoming color to the color it most resembles in the palette BUT if that color is kinda between two colors I can dither the pixels to "mix" the colors without breaking the palette

i even got to make a look-up table that is smuggling in non-rgb information on rgb channels. these pixels don't even know what's happening!
