For Keir Starmer to talk of national resilience and ignore nature is absurd | Letters Letters: Responding to an article by the PM, Caroline Lucas says he must be clearer about climate risks, Molly Scott Cato says we must reverse Brexit and Dr Victor Ajuwon applauds Labour’s directness....

Extraordinary that nowhere in an article on resilience did PM find space to include the growing threat posed to UK security by the dramatic decline in the health of nature around the world - especially since his own intelligence chiefs have recently spelt it out for him in no uncertain terms 👇

I get angrier and angrier about this every day. PA should never have been proscribed and no one should ever be arrested for peacefully protesting that proscription

We need an honest conversation about where our government's loyalties really lie (clue, it ain't with the British people)

The US military has 22 sites in the UK.

Every day long range US bombers are taking off here to drop bombs on Iran.

This is a rogue state carrying out war crimes, and threatening more.

The UK Government must grow a spine - and stop our bases being used for this war.

To be fair, the Greens and Lib-Dems have been quite clear about their hatred of Trump

We are where we are because Labour refused to compromise with the socialist left and instead chose to constantly attack us

Now the socialist left are leading the polls and saying the rich need to compromise with us but we will be in the driving seat

There's a party that cares about people *and* about the planet.

And it can win in 30 days time.

This is your moment to join the Green Party.

I'm not denying that it was technically a gain

I'm saying it's not as big a win as what some people made out at the time

They also work together where I live in Bristol.

I'm not that bothered that Polanksi used to be a Lib-Dem. People can change 🤷🏻

Labour haven't learned from when they lost control of Bristol City Council. People got fed up with their bullying and uselessness. The LD's took control. Now Greens.

Labour mayor Marvin Rees was so atrocious the post of mayor was abolished.

Labour govt going the same way...

How? SNP haven't gone into coalition with the Tories and it seems unlikely that they ever would

They would probably happily be part of a left leaning coalition that could include Labour

Wasn't that the by-election where the Greens didn't stand a candidate? Not sure that counts as beating them but regardless seems like important context?

Just a visual perspective, this looks a lot better

But yh I don't think it's some huge win for the reasons others have given

Still Reform didn't win though

Corbyn's leadership lasted under 5 years and its been a full 6 years since. Still mentioned a *19 times* in a FT article about an entirely different person and political party.

Sorry, I misread. It's definitely the case that the party is overcoming the biggest hurdle... Getting people to realise in a lot of places they can vote Green to beat Reform

1. That's such a terrible graph that it's unpleasant to look at

2. The independent was affiliated to the Lib-Dems so not a surprise they took the ward.

P.s I used to live near there, nice place 🙂

I'm a Green member but I find it frustrating when any party makes these kinds of broad claims saying you need to vote for x to keep y out across the country

It's specific to the ward/constituency. To claim otherwise is just confusing for voters at precisely the time clarity is most important

It's great to see you taking the idea of an alternative to NATO seriously

There was 1 party leader who has been talking about that since he was elected over a year ago and the media class said it was a crazy idea. His name is @zackpolanski.bsky.social

Can we now admit he was right?

This is what I find so frustrating. I want to see a resolution on this but language coming from people like Eleanora makes that more difficult :/

by far the worst tendency on this platform is its tendency to interpret a description of something that happened or is happening as an endorsement of that thing

I have been reading Mark on conversion therapy cases for years and he has always been very clear about how awful it is

So Israel commits war crime after war crime…

Invades

Targets civilians/aid workers

Snipers children

Land grabs

Celebrates with champagne at hanging Palestinians

…and the international community can’t even muster the most flaccid of responses.

You have failed us all.
