I turned 13 at the end of 1979 and 23 at the end of 1989 so that was peak formative years, and yes, it absolutely was pining and panic, hairspray and the threat of nuclear war. Also see "Two Suns In the Sunset" by Pink Floyd.

When this was first announced and I saw the title I immediately went "Oh NOOOOOOO." But I'm still gonna read it, even though I know I'll regret everything.
In the early 70s my grandparents' black and white TV was struck by lightning and all it did was fuse the power switch so that you had to plug it in or unplug it to turn it on and off. It still worked for years after that.
A few months ago I had five vials drawn, not too bad, but the first (I forget what it was for), needed a priming vial, which they threw away. My perfectly good blood! "Excuse me, I was using that!"
If you're lucky you'll get it down to every three months! (I was diagnosed 25 years ago.)
But Beulah wasn't Elsie's only child! In 1947 there was Beauregard, and ten years later there were twins named Larrabee and Lobelia. It seems the first "living Elsie" was named "You'll Do, Lobelia", which sounds like another story in itself.
Definitely agree. Ditto anything "birthday cake" flavor, i.e. sugar with a little vanilla and a hint of plastic.
Caramel. It's mainly the texture, because I don't like sticky, but also the flavor is... fine, I guess.
I think macarons are always disappointing, too. Too sweet and something about the texture is off, and I usually do like the combination of crunchy/creamy.
I draw flowers well, and I'm not bad at birds and insects. Media-wise, I'm best at pencil and pen and ink, though I've done some decent acrylic abstracts.
I admire anyone who can draw horses! Mine always look like they're crouching down on their hind legs in a way that horses don't, though I've been practicing and I'm getting better. I can draw flowers pretty well, though.
