How much "trouble" would the league realistically be in if there is no generational US star to replace LBJ, KD or Steph?

We have tons of int. talent (who'll get better) already at that level, but aren't bringing in the TV ratings as those 3. Is this a thing the NBA is actually worried about?

Inside The NBA is expected to continue on ABC/ESPN and will be produced by TNT Sports, according to a source briefed on the agreement.

Near the end, I exclusively used Twitter essentially as a "newspaper", to see the trending topics of the day...

That all completely fails with half of it is promoted by bots and the other half is ragebait.

My feed is super dry, so I'm following as many interesting looking accounts as possible.

Don't care what you post about, as long as it's cool or authentic.

For me, the worse thing will be the gaslighting from the "centrists" who will sane-wash him and his admin at every turn.

"This looks bad, but it isn't really anything new. Dems basically did the same thing, right?"

It's not even a "they're falling for his lies", but they're literally making up positions that Trump doesn't even have in this convoluted way to justify voting for him.

Meanwhile, will point to a singular sentence uttered at a random event 3 years ago to NEVER support a Democrat.

Biden literally has... as a moderate Democrat. Because he was a lifelong moderate! A moderate Democrat who pushed progressive legislation when he became president

I swear this can't that hard to comprehend. He can be a centrist his entire life AND is still be the most leftist president since FDR.

Sanders: Biden a more progressive president than he was as senator President Biden is much more progressive as commander in chief than he was as a senator, according to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), with the left-wing lawmaker saying on Sunday he would support Bide…

I guess Bernie Sanders is also "intellectually dishonest"?

You cited his voting record AS A REPRESENTATIVE.

Once again: As. The. President. Of. The. United. States. Of. America. He has passed more progressive policies than several of his predecessors.

And you have the nerve to imply that I'm the dishonest one lmao

Easy, Operation Warp Speed.

Seeing the vaccines were possibly rushed out could invite legit skepticism. However, as soon as politicians started to skip the line in front of doctors and front line workers to take them, it immediately eliminated my concerns about them being "intentionally harmful".

So was LBJ... and we got civil rights from it. Politics is all about being the best opportunist in order to pass the policies you want. Is that automatically a bad thing, even if the policies are good?

Again, why do you seem to care more about his label than what he actually did as President?

1 year ago 1 0 1 0

I said he was the "most progressive president" in a long time; I never said he was a full leftist. Compared to other PRESIDENTS, he's pushed through more progressive legislation than anyone else. That's not a "PR push"

Do you actually care about the policies or just having a "leftist" label on it?

1 year ago 1 0 1 0

Idk what point you're trying to make. Yes, he has been staunch centrist politician and has been the most progressive president in a very long time... both can be true.

One issue doesn't cancel out the other policies he's implemented. This country has been capitalist for 250 years... 4 years of "progressivism" from a lifelong moderate Democrat shouldn't be the desired end goal, but the starting point

Also, Biden has helped relieve $175 Billion for 5 million people

None of that matters if WE (both the left & center-left liberals) don't work to dismantle the double standards conservatives have enjoyed for so long.

Creating this "fictional" divide between the left instead of working against the right, will lead us to where they want us: divided and conquered.

It only works if the media covers it and shows it to the people. They need to do a better job at actively showing the consequences of evil

Whether or not they'll change is up to them, but I still got hope that MAGA hasn't infested the majority of this country. This Fear only grows out of ignorance

It's easy to convince people that all illegal immigrants are "rapists, murderers and criminals".

But when it's nothing but elderly people and their family members being dragged out of their homes... hopefully, people can snap out of the fear mongering.

Sad we have to go through this as a nation...

Let them fight

Liz Cheney came to the Democrats, not the other way around. You can't be for the "Big Tent Party" only when it's specific people you want. This is what coalition building looks like...

You think the right is as stringent on accepting any people on the right into their camps in order to gain votes?

If you're in conservative spaces, you'll know that they literally say stuff like "he'll make foreign leaders respect America again, because the fear him!"

I think there's some value in breaking that illusion, as it's very a rampant idea they peddle

Joe Biden was the most progressive president in 60 years and no one cared... Americans just have no idea what "progressive" actually means. Their mind instantly goes to "scary communism".

On paper, MOST Americans think progressive policies are great: they just need to be educated on what they are.

There's a massive disconnect from conservatives caring about something and being TOLD to care about something.

Piers often says "but you must acknowledge that people 'feel' this way" without ever admitting it's largely due to the amount of propaganda they consume.

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive

I'm tuning out a lot of political stuff right now, and one filter is that I'm not interested in anyone, from centrist liberal to democratic socialist, who doesn't understand the necessity of building coalitions with people you only semi-agree with. It's stunning to me how many people don't get that.
