You posted a link to Canada's Methane Strategy. It has a lot to do with showing how ineffective it is. That flare being yellow means it is only burning 70% of the gas. It is flaring 40+X more than permitted and no one seems to be stopping it. LNG Canada says a fix will take 3 years.

It needs a little more time in the oven. Maybe a sleepless night or two.
@thenarwhal.ca broke the story in November, CBC and others didn't pick it up until earlier this month. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
An extremely important thread for Canadians to consider in light of Carney's capitulations to Smith, failure to address the climate crisis, and the threats to our national unity and Charter rights.
It is not better than oil or coal. Full stop.
A Methane Strategy is only useful if it is being implemented. It is not.

Natural gas is no better than coal or oil. Don't believe the industry greenwashing.
Wake me when they've actually built it. Licensing 5GW is not building 5GW.
Feel free to post your source links btw, I can make screenshots too, but wouldn't expect anyone to pay them any heed.
Carney said yes. He owns it.
Things are changing very quickly.
The impacts aren't zero, but are far lower than fossil fuels in terms of both pollution and land use. On batteries there is some variation depending on chemistry. Sodium ion batteries are already being used in cars and require no lithium. www.ucs.org/resources/en...
For less than a GW? Yeah, it pails in comparison to the new gas powered generation he's OKed. thewalrus.ca/after-intens...
Your data is dated. 150MW is a sad joke, not unlike a high speed train between Montreal and Ottawa. Window dressing.

That, or my tinfoil helmet has slipped again.
Considering what the US is doing to Cuba, the similarities with what is happening to Malawi and soon elsewhere, the gutting of USAID, and Rubio's speech to the Munich Security Conference endorsing a return to colonialism, I think I see a horrible plan coming together timed before solar replaces oil.
Give them some time, they'll come around.
Bad things always effect the poorest first. Malawi is among the least developed nations. A rapid move to solar could change that.
I certainly hope NDP MLAs feel suitably empowered.
Whoops, turns out they bought Amazon AI chips with their investment from Amazon, not AWS hosting. Still circular investing. arstechnica.com/ai/2026/04/a...
Have another look. Your opinion does not align with his legislation or OKing of fossil fuel expansion.
Screenshot of a WHOIS lookup on markcarnage.ca showing that the Canadian Union of Public Employees Ontario Division has registered the domain.
CUPE has their eye on the timer. No website there yet.
Not nearly enough of the conversation around this is the question you omit in your post:
"Who is propagating this AI slop disinformation?"
YouTube is. We need regulations to prevent or at least mitigate this stuff. It's not just Alberta separation, AI slop accounts are all over our politics.
Mainly nah. Critical thinking skills would be good to have right about now.
Maybe let's let the separatists keep his asshole.
Fascinating story by @charlesrusnell.bsky.social on intersection of AI and foreign interference in Alberta’s separation campaign. It raises many troubling questions. Who is paying for AI slop disinformation? And who is consuming it? And how on earth can those on the No side compete? #ableg #abpoli
