My most tinfoil hat theory is that 50 years ago when the oil companies learned they were causing climate change, they decided to go as hard as possible to make money before they got regulated away, but they were too successful in buying off politicians and they accidentally destroyed the world first
on the 50th anniversary of the release of The Boys Are Back in Town I'm morally obligated to share my favorite story of all time
Is this the right analysis of this? Looks like all but one in the GOP supported this and If Golden had voted no, there would probably be another Dem elected who would have voted yes. Or is this too cynical?
it so weird how there's always just one guy holding this stuff up... almost like the party is putting on a show of opposing something they actually agree with
this is worse than a recession indicator
I've been thinking about quantum energy healing non stop since I watched this episode last month

Sexually abusing women is expressive; it indicates values. These men's values disqualify them for both the responsibility and the dignity of power.
this should be understood as part of the project to push women out of public life, which the media is also engaged in

Pope's weak on crime
Ba ba baaaaa
The pope is weak on crime is one that's gonna be banging around in my head till the end I fear
a weird belief that is held across basically all sectors of American life is that boy dollars and boy votes are better than girl dollars and girl votes and so if you have a lot of the latter you need to be constantly trying to exchange them for the former
I am so tired of being deluged with the sordid details of sexual crimes. It feels nonstop since 2014. Yes absolutely those stories should be told. I get that this is how justice begins: with victims having voices, stories being heard, and so forth; I've been supporting that forever.
When I was a kid this was just fad diets but now men do it so it's biohacking
declining teen pregnancy is good, actually

* in retrospect it seems like it was a scam and also contemporaneously it also was very obviously a scam
"in retrospect, do you think that could have worked?" in retrospect it was never real? how could it have worked? like sure it could have maybe worked if it was ever real but it wasn't? i just don't understand the question i guess!
i would love to see someone ask one of the mayors who did this how they feel about what was in retrospect* a ploy by elon to funnel public transportation dollars into his pocket with no hope of an actual return, and how that affects how they see public/private partnerships moving foward
Just wild to me that pretty much everyone agrees that women are rapidly losing rights and status and that almost no one thinks this is important enough to cover.
Can I get a hell yeah
fun fact - in this interactive, you can take away as much money as possible from the cops and max out the quality of life sliders and still have a "great" approval number
The thing about "Fix your hearts or die" is that it's a binary proposition.
