I thought I’d have your answer but this is the one vol of the early Peritia I don’t have 😓

Would any good soul happen to have a copy of Peritia 2 (1983)? Looking for Kenneth Nicholls' article 'Late medieval Irish annals: two fragments' (pp. 87–102).
The main thing I'd like to know is if there are any images of the Annals of Duiske in the article.
Harlequin ladybird - notice the domed shape & relatively large size as it sits on a dahlia leaf
Unfortunately the harlequin ladybirds are in the garden - they predate on native ladybirds - I’ve noticed them a lot in south Dublin in recent years 🌱

My tulips are hitting their best - pity about the wind and rain 🌱
There are only 44 female TD’s in the Dáil. Each female Minister who stood up to speak during the confidence motion was heckled and shouted over during their speaking time by Independent Ireland. It is not acceptable.
Performance is as close as possible to the original spot where Handel's Messiah was premiered 284 years ago.
In 1742 men were requested to leave their swords and women their hoops at home, to accommodate the crowds who wanted to attend.
Bird on teasel in silhouette.
Most people would have cut this back months ago.
Cleared it.
Tidied it.
Made it “look right”.
We didn’t.
And now it’s part of the garden in a completely different way.

This is how you are supposed to react to high oil prices. We have just been bounced into do itn the opposite. Delaying carbon tax under pressure from the protestors will slow our move away from fossil fuel. In the long run we all lose.

April - a month for tulips. I normally favour open flowers for pollinators but could not resist growing these beauties
Perfection of a kind was what he was after, / and the poetry he invented was easy to understand; / he knew human folly like the back of his hand, / and was greatly interested in armies and fleets; / when he laughed, respectable senators burst with laughter, / when he died the little children died on the streets (W. H. Auden)
I am Irish but have American heritage - this cuts close

Nicely done!
I have some images from a recent deep-dive into a 1492 incunable where there are quite a few knight-looking saints, so if these might be useful I'll be happy to provide some details.

Trump may not carry out the threat.
But the fact he even made such a threat means he should immediately be removed from office.
For that is the purpose of a constitution with checks and balances.

This is so, so well-articulated.

This is my favorite climate change chart. Japanese monks, aristocrats, and emperors kept meticulous records of cherry blossom festivals for 1,200 years and accidentally built the world's longest climate dataset.
Trump is saying this now because he's angry that other NATO members aren't doing what he wants. But there are also medium- and longer-term questions about NATO's viability that everyone needs to face up to. 🧵

Bumblebee feeding on grape hyacinth
Beginning to see more bumblebees as the month marches on 😀. Over the years I’ve tried to increase food sources such as this muscari 🌱
They look like they have come straight from a fantasy film 😀
I think that is about the original length of time I had them - another reason I was so surprised - and delighted - to see it back
It comes in white as well but I think the purple checkered one is prettier
