I agree that this is super alarming and may widen gaps that have already been very hard to close. However, although I know the main drivers of this are the title and the main theme, if I could have chosen any misattribution, it definitely would have been to you
So incredibly proud of and happy for you! So well deserved!
We find that in cities with non partisan elections there are more independent officials and -- among the partisan officials -- more officials from the minority party.
We use it to learn the partisanship of all mayors and city councilors to then compare the partisan composition between cities with partisan and non partisan ballots.
We put together a very comprehensive list of local officials in ALL cities in the U.S. and merged it with individuals' information from voter files, as well as variables at the city level. This dataset is the result of massive efforts, work, and love (and we are happy to share it!)
Brief pause from maternity leave to share that the article "Nonpartisan ballots and the partisanship of who serves in office", co-authored with the amazing Dan Butler and Adam Dynes, has just been accepted at @thejop.bsky.social: www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/abs/10.1...
Go and meet my brilliant co-authors in a very exciting and interesting panel! We would love your feedback!

Is @latimes.com 's Soon-Shiong EVER going to answer to these scandals? This is shocking and incredibly scary.
¡Feliz de regresar a casa! Y más para celebrar sus 50 años. Infinitamente agradecida por la invitación. ¡Nos vemos mañana!
The strongest evidence of the intergenerational gap between me and my grad students is not that they don't get my TAR jokes or that they don't know who Dirk Nowitzki is. It is that they understand my references to Bluey 🙈 (after seeing my costume ears: "are you a fox or Bingo?")
Beyond proud of my undergrad students who crushed the poster session today! They're young, hard working, bright & kind. It was a lot of work but this is my rough and tiny attempt at channeling the great & incomparable @rkwrice . Thanks everyone for your help and work!
