The aurora borealis arching above distant town lights. A small rock pile in the foreground resembles a figure overlooking the scene.
No moonlight, no clouds, and a great display of aurora. 👌🏻

The Milky Way spanning diagonally across the sky above an ocean-side lighthouse. The lighthouse is painted with black and white horizontal stripes. There is a second building lined with balconies attached to the left side of the lighthouse. Some snow and ice are visible at the water’s edge at the lower right side of the image.

SPLASHDOWN!!!
Three cheers for science, engineering, research, curiosity, cooperation.
Look what the fuck we can do when we ask big questions, work together, and fund our scientists.
Congratulations, NASA. Congratulations, humanity!

I wasn’t aware it would be visible here but either way, it is 300% cloudy here. I’m watching on my cloud-free television. 😉

I’ve had a very specific full moon alignment photo planned out for over two years now and it will finally take place tonight at 7:30pm…when it will be 100% overcast.
Oh well. I will just try again next month…

My heart literally skipped a beat reading this song list. I was glued to MuchMusic at that time.
(Also “Google Goo Dolls” is a masterpiece of a typo, lol)

Yesterday I was leaving Costco and exit greeter / receipt checker person said “thanks for coming”, as if it was an indie band playing for gas money on a weeknight.

By “longer nights”, I meant “longer days”, I suppose. Longer usable nights? In any case, the compromise feels lopsided at the start of March. The days are getting longer anyway, but now we’re suddenly waking up in the dark again. By April, it would be a 7am sunrise and an 8pm sunset.

New hot(?) take:
If the switch to Daylight Time happened on the first weekend of April instead of the first weekend of March, both the morning light gang and the longer nights gang would be satisfied.

I’m pretty disappointed to hear that Apple has allegedly paused development of their Vision Pro in order to chase a piece of the perv glasses pie. Despite the insane pricing, the Vision seems legit cool to me as a VR work environment you’d use when you need. All day smart glasses sounds miserable.

I actually noticed and if you go back and take a look at the path travelled by the car before it lost signal, I made you a nice drawing of a giraffe wearing an eye patch. You can use that if you want.

I’ll do it but only if you’re 3 kilometres away from the camera and a silhouette against the sky.
Sorry. I’m a one trick pony.

Yeah, I did see the beginnings of it while I was driving into town. That much was enjoyable. While the moonset eclipse would’ve been cool for photos, it is a bit of shame it was so light out for the visual observers, because the “blood moon” effect is very cool when it’s dark out.
