I’m really looking forward to the arrival of the Root: Homeland Expansion.
I’ve finished the Japanese translation for the faction materials and the 'Learn to Play' guide. It was a lot of work, but that’s nothing compared to the excitement waiting for me once it arrives!🐸🦇🦨
weekly ROOT session!
Played on the Lake Map, with the Ferry and The Lost City as landmarks. Factions: Lord of the Hundreds, Eyrie Dynasties, and the Riverfolk Company.
It’s not every day you get to see the Riverfolk Company in a physical tabletop game, but I really love their playstyle.
I just hit my 300th play of Root so far this year! That’s combining both digital and physical plays.
Since I started tracking everything on BGStats, board gaming has been way too much fun😆
It’s also really interesting to see your strengths and weaknesses start to show.
The 3rd "ROOTだけ遊び尽くす会" ,a board game meetup dedicated solely to playing ROOT, will be held in Gifu.
This time, it even includes meals and sweets!

Playing Digital ROOT via random matchmaking! Even with one player down, the early-game raid near my Keep was so intense.
When I hit 29 pts, the chat was alive with "not yet" and "go cats!" Such a great vibe and everyone was so skilled. ROOT is truly on fire worldwide! 🌲🔥

IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!!!
I woke up early this morning, so I played a solo game of ROOT.
The Clockwork Expansion is amazing because it lets you enjoy both solo and cooperative play.
Benjamin Schmauss is incredible!
I really hope a Japanese version gets released.

My partner and I are currently obsessed with 2-player Root sessions.
It only takes about 30 minutes or so—it's accessible yet deeply strategic and so much fun.

My board game plays for February.
On days when my younger son is especially energetic, he starts using the wooden pieces for pretend play, so it’s hard to get a proper game in. But at times like that, being able to play the digital version with my wife really helps!
That’s one of the happiest pieces of news I could hear right now!!!
The translation is already done, so now all that’s left is explaining the rules to my family and friends.
I’m really excited!
