One bridge rebuilt (built), connecting to grace, one decayed, connecting to dilapidation. I like this parallelβif sad.
I CANNOT wait for that patch. I'm so anxious, it must be grand!
Me too.. We need MoP, WotLK & vanilla at all times.

AHHH beautiful..
I forgot to expand on this:
I believe Xal is going straight to the Worldcore, to claim "her prize". I'm not sure why she needed the Darkwell for that, one would assume all the power in the Dark Heart would've been enough to teleport the Devouring Host there, but anyhow, that is where we're going.
Spoilers.
I'm surprised that people aren't talking about the the Darkwell being used as a portal. We can see the Devouring Host going through to wherever, and that is where Alleria and Turalyon has gone too most probably. Xal'atath goes down there as well right before it closes. #Warcraft #Midnight
There is still time to fix this for the release of March on Quel'Danas. Please, do not delay that behind normal. PLEASE!
@worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com @thewindstalker.bsky.social Please could someone respond to this? This genuinely destroys the experience for SO MANY PLAYERS. Story-focused people not being able to experience the raid and its aftermath first-hand in-game is really sad because Midnight has been so good.
I've been avoiding spoilers like the plague. Trying, at least.. And yes, I can't wrap my head around this utter lunacy either.. The worst thing should be that Story Mode is not available for the whole of the Raid but only its ending fully out of context, not that it's also DELAYED FOR NO REASON.
<Story Mode available next week.>
I do not EVER want to see this piece of garbage again! @worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com
I'm in love with the idea of our true benevolent (or not, but at least free-willed and not cosmic-powered) Old Gods returning but now freed from the Void as well. Insane idea and the coolest shit I've heard. That said, only N'Zoth would've been freedβunless their essences were also chilling out in Ny'alotha and our azerothing/alning them also propagated to them as well. I felt a bit weird about the Harandar questline because it really seemed to disregard most of what BfA has established and I think it should not be thrown out because of insane implications like this. What the Midnight story gave us (so far) is just fuel to the fire. If we do not go in this direction, it'll be the biggest fantasy crime of the century or possibly all time. What can also be said about Ny'alotha that closes this loophole is that it was simply Void corruption of Azeroth itself and it got cleaned away by Aln-power. That could work but it'd be really lame. You've set a new precedent for what we should be expecting past-Titan-defined era Warcraft. Getting new local Azerothian gods and us literally barely knowing anything about them is free real-estate for a blank state of lore and exploration while literally nothing we've learned and experienced so far loses its meaning. It was the Titan-ordered era. We know stuff about the Void-corrupted era, and some details about Life-infested or Elemental-controlled periods, which may have or confirmed to have been existed in parallel. We know nothing of what was before and now we'll have infinite potential to explore. Elune? An'she? The origin of the soul of The Winter Queen? They could have been children of Azeroth, our old gods, some of whom have accepted Void power, some of whom had to flee to the stars and moons, some of whom died, transformed, some of whom slumber. That's the free- real-estate -will era, baby.
Thumbnail for the video showing N'Zoth the giant fleshy and tenticly purple-Void Old God with an octopid body with three agressively orange eyes and a head a giant orange toothy-thorny maw next to a stain-glass artwork seen in Ulduar resembling a long-bearded Greek-style Neptune-like merfolk (half-fish, half-man) deity wearing a crown and holding a trident.
@pyromanceryt.bsky.social 's lore spec. on N'Zoth basically getting "Alned" after being Void-touched for so long. Honestly, that's probably the most compelling potential-rich #Warcraft idea I've ever heard. It ties nicely into everything we've seen including Harandar.

@worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com Simple request: I want to be able to sort custom sets by date, not name.
They used to be ordered by date and I loved seeing the progression of my character's mogs as they went through the game over the years. Now they are all over the place and it is confusing and sad.
Nudging players into trying out grounded questing is a good thing, if it that DOES NOT EVER encroach on the ability for players who need flight to be able to enjoy the experience.
But, maybe, the best is simply to: not do anything and let there be both, and design for both in mind as Midnight has.
It's actually so great of a deep dive of the problem that this made me want to retract my quoted suggestion, but it still stands. I just got to appreciate more what the underlying issue is to make sure to avoid:
Do not ever give a free pass for tedium = more engagement.
Elegant design is the way!
Thait said.. I agree with @discordiankitty.bsky.social wholeheartedly.
This is a discussion about choice and the right design. Design experiences & quests that motivate players to want to engage more but make sure let them freely choose how to. @worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com

Cooking up a system like this might be difficult because of all these edge cases but putting in the work would mean much to the community to really show the care.
Adding a grace buff that can be hard-coded to be applied for certain key moments to allow flying without ending the challenge could work.
Of course, the issue here is that we'd definitely not want to limit design space for questing, it is good to have dungeons (and perhaps Delves in the future), questing moments and sub-zones that build on flying during the campaign experience. However, I believe this'd still be worth solving.
π§΅β¦
If they turn it off, they'll lose it and they'd have to start over from the beginning, which is perfectly fine. The reward as mentioned would be fully cosmetic and fully optional. Or, it could just be the achievement itself people can share, a simple unique decor, mount, toy, pet or mog.
π§΅β¦
I suggest a feature akin to Hardcore (but simpler) that players can opt-into, applying a debuff to themselves that hard-limits their ability to fly. If they have that debuff on them all throughout a full playthrough, they'll get an achievement when they reach max level/finish the campaign.
π§΅β¦
Okay, so with Steady Flight now not being locked (in TWW & Midnight), and the appreciation of players' agency when it comes to not flying during questing, I wonder if the way to encourage a better experience is not limitation but optional cosmetic REWARD?

I would ask the same about Malfurion regarding Harandar but.. I've kinda just been shifting my attitude toward taking the whole Harandar story for what it is to enjoy it, and that requires taking it out of context for now.. until the game world can catch up and potential holes and connections fixed.
I have only one question left for Midnight. (Still not done even with the leveling quests so bear with me.. it might be a thing but I have seen no indication for it anywhere yet.)
The Amani are The highlight for me for sure.
When will Talanji appear? Isle of Fangs? Surely..

Why is neigh every remote (EU) Game Design job AI-related and/or basically boils down to slot-machine design with a random theme for mobile or whatever now? Like damn. How does one supposed to find any even somewhat meaningful work in this market?
Is anyone with a mission for art & quality hiring?
Midnight has been doing a really great job at dealing with small things like this, but this one.. and to be fair Harandar as a whole with the roots, especially Shaladrassil.. has been strange to say the least. This was the worst part of the main story so far but fixable. The devil is in the details.
Screenshot of Azerite being mined in The Den of Harandar.
Aln dust should just basically be Azerite residue. But, if it's not, which is entirely possible to explain away, it should be dealt with. Is Azerite Aln-infused rock but from this pure Aln dust can't be extracted by known means to be used to ward against any cosmic corruption & grant free will?
So, Aln dust.
I'm very surprised it's connection to Azerite is not being dealt with in the story, not even by a small optional dialogue (so far from what I've encountered). That is very strange to me and I wish they did not forget these kinds of old threads..
#Warcraft #Midnight
Well I guess it has the dream swirlies that make it somewhat uniqueβbut mostly just recognizable, not unique. I believe this is a huge missed opportunity..
Also, Shaladrassil being barely corrupted but now being taken over by Light is very interesting.. I'd love to see it represented overworld too.
A screenshot of Amirdrassil Roots in Harandar.
I'm actually quite sad to see no allusion made to Ardenweald on the roots of Amirdrassil. The tree is absolutely beautiful and it looks like a proper Azerothian world tree but infused with the souls of the victims of Teldrassil's burning. I would've loved to see the roots represent it too! #Warcraft
